2.6 Is the background from other section latest ?
Name of the source of information:-
2.7 Has all unnecessary details being removed from the background ?
2.8 Has the line work for the background been lightened ? (Only emphasise on electrical system)
2.9 Have you include the key plan ? (Vessel fwd arrow to be indicated)
2.10 Are you doing the standardise way of drawing presentation ?
Is the cost code number added ?
2.11 Is vendor information available ?
Have compile equipment data/specification and attach to this check list ?
Have prepare a list of equipment information which is not available and attach to this check list ?
3 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SELECTION
3.1 Have you check correct frequency, rated voltage and current (amp) used ?
3.2 Are the selected equipment suit the hazardous area requirements ?
Is the explosion-proof equipment c/w approved classification body certificate ?
3.3 Are the selected equipment comply to that area ingress protection (IP) requirements ?
3.4 Are the selected equipment completely assembled ?
3.5 Are the selected equipment cable entry size suit this project cable/gland size ?
3.6 Have you check the material requirements, e.g. SS316, GRP & etc ?
3.7 Have you check the mounting type, e.g. surface, flush & etc ?
Refer KFELS standard document for guidance & suitability
3.8 Ensure no double tier terminal block is being used. Maintenance difficulty in future.
3.9 Are flashing light selected (UK HSE):-
a)in case of a warning of toxic gas, red colour
b)in all other cases, yellow colour
Engineer to ensure correct colour scheme.
Is the acoustic signal sounded the PA system speakers? (Otherwise sound device to be provided)
4 PREPARING THE ARRANGEMENT & SCHEMATIC
4.1 Are all information presented clearly and legible ? (Lettering height 2.5mm minimum)
4.2 Are all outgoing cable tagging according to KFELS method ?
4.3 Is the panel (power) incoming cable tagged as per respective source drawing cable number?
4.4 Are all equipment tagging according to KFELS method & also the same item number as in
purchase specification document ?
4.5 Is the symbols and standardisation practise ?
4.6 Prepare block cabling schematic as per vendor termination drawing ?
Have you make a copy of the vendor termination drawing for production information later ?
Have you incorporate KFELS cable tagging for the above copy ?
4.7 Is gas detector in mud pit room located at the mud return flow point ?
4.8 Is gas detector below drillfloor located at the mud trough ?

ITEM DESCRIPTION YES NO REMARKS
4.9 Is gas detector for mushroom ventilator mounted beside the accessible vertical ladder ?
4.10 To indicate "PCM" in "Revision Column" of the drawing if PCM have been issued.
5 INTERFERENCE CHECK
5.1 Is the electrical equipment spacing check for:-
a)accessibility
b)comply to contract specification
c)comply to classification body
Checking should also take into consideration:-
a)bulkhead girders/stiffeners
b)miscellaneous working platforms
c)handrails
d)insulation thickness
e)manhole
f)head room (refer outfitting section)
g)ladder position (especially the vertical type)
h)space clearance below a hatch opening
i)equipment coaming/drip pan position
j)door swing position
k)below trolley beam for equipment removal space
l)shelving
6 CABLE SIZING
6.1 Is the power supply cable conductor size for #14AWG or 2.5mm minimum ?
6.2 Refer this project cable ampacity table to select cable size ?
6.3 Is the armoured or non-armour cable clearly indicated in drawing ?
6.4 Is collective or individual screen cable clearly indicated in drawing ?
6.5 Have you ensure intrinsically safe circuit cable whether to use blue colour ?
6.6 Have you select multi-core cable that are not greater than 50mm overall diameter (O.D) ?
Prefer more run of smaller diameter cables.
Do not leave excess spare conductors inside the control panel
Do not use a multi-core cable to mix pair and triad connection.
6.7 Have you considered voltage drop ?
(Engineer to provide/ensure correct calculation formula)
6.8 Have you confirm with vendor is okay if the cable size (or number of cores) or type are different
from VCD ?
6.9 24VDC system cable size usually is very large, have you check that the control panel or junction
box cater for:-
a)correct cable entry size
b)sufficient space for wire to bend/terminate
c)correct terminal size with respect to the selected cable
Is the vendor inform of the above requirement ?
7 FINAL CHECK
