The Software must be able to Recieve SMS from registered users to order
Pizzas. The user sends an SMS in a preefined format to a number. A GSM
module connected to a PC is used to read SMS and Process the order. A bill
will be printed on a printer attached.
The objective of this project is to control a web camera via the Internet. This
will be accomplished through the use of a motorized control tray. This tray will
be connected through a (wireless) serial link to a web server that will be
connected to a client applet that allows the user to control the direction the
camera is pointed in. Since the solution strategy involves a wireless serial link,
this would allow the camera and tray to be placed relatively far from the server.
Because of this flexibility in camera placement, many different unique
applications are possible for this system.
Autonomous Robot
Our goal in this project is to create an affordable Voice Over IP solution for the
general public. Although this technology is currently available for large
corporations, the price and complexity ahs kept it out of the reach of the small
business and home user. We see the emerging power of broadband as a
untapped market space. Our design is a all-in-one dedicated hardware solution
that will provide a new class of service to this market. This product will allow
people greater freedom in communication.
Wireless PC
This project was undertaken as a part of the software development for virtual
delivery of services with regard to emergency health care. The project is to
design and develop computer telephony integration-based solution to enable a
user to dial a pre -specified telephone number and talk to an agent to get
emergency medical services
Designing of a low power, low cast smart card readers using the Philips
LPC2104 micro controller (Philips arm-based micro controller). The software’s
worked with are cygwin (Unix shell on windows) and C (for coding). The
project involved study of the data sheets of the ARM7TDMI, LPC2104 micro
controller and SLE4442 memory chip. And the design of the smart card board
for accessing and writing the interfacing code for LPC2104 in C language.
Ever wonder why it takes so long to check out at the grocery store? Ever have a
hard time keeping track of your coupons or hate cutting them out from the
Sunday paper? Keep losing those birthday gift certificates you get from your
relatives? Always leave your gift certificates at home when you go shopping?
Having a digital coupon and gift certificate system would eliminate these
headaches associated with the current paper system. Storing coupons and gift
certificates on your PDA and/or cell phone would make these transactions
much easier and more common place. This system would speed up the
checkout times at many retail stores. It would also enable companies to target
specials and/or deals to certain people or areas. It would enable companies to
track where the coupons where being used most often and reorganize their
marketing campaigns accordingly. Initially the grocery stores will see the
benefit of this system in the shortest amount of time. This is because the
coupon is already being used in great numbers at these stores. In addition to
this fact, the new and upcoming “self-checkout” process is gaining momentum
and this automated coupon system would be a great complement to it. Also, the
PDA market is rapidly increasing and becoming more affordable to more
people. The Internet has showed us that online shopping is possible and
profitable, however, in recent months it is evident that the trip to the mall will
not be eliminated anytime soon. With this digital coupon system, the ability to
use coupon and gift certificates either online or at the retail store is where we
believe the future will be. A way to bring together online shopping and the trip
to the store with coupons and gift certificates that can be used at both places.
Generic E-Tools
This Project was to develop Intranet web pages for the Human Resources,
Personnel and Administration departments of this firm. This had forms that
enable the employees across the country to access all the information regarding
the policies of employment like Retirement Promotion, Pension,
Compensations, Wage Policies, Fringe benefits schemes, etc. This project also
allows the employees to communicate with the Human Resources department
regarding their upgraded skills, grievances.
The aim of the project is to control the devices or equipment’s from the remote
place through a web-page. Here all the devices which are to be controlled are
connected to the relays(acts as switches)on the webserver circuit board. The
web-server circuit is connected to LAN or internet. The client or a person on
the PC is also connected to same LAN or internet. By typing the IP-address of
LAN on the web browser, the user gets a web-page on screen, this page contains
all the information about the status of the devices( whether they are ON or
OFF). On this page the user is provided with checkboxes to check or uncheck
the boxes in order switch OFF or switch ON the devices.
The aim of the Project was to develop an automated system, which could keep
track of a Project’s Status and Modules under it. It could evaluate Budget
(time) Performance and overall Stock Maintenance. The project involved
extensive study, analysis and designing. The main modules of the project were
- order placement, billing process, stock assessment and report generation viz
sales report, order report and spoilage reports and invoice generation.
IDS (Internet Distribution System) aims at capturing the data regarding any
hotel that comes and registers with the IDS and maintains the data regarding its
rooms, inventory, setting up of the rates for the rooms on different criteria like
segment, Timeframe and season, setting up of discounts and provides for online
reservation for the Hotel. The Hotel would be charged based upon the
reservations made and a predefined agreement between the Hotelier and the
IDS.
ENTERPRISE DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM
An Aquatic Quality Automation System (AQAS) that can monitor and control
water quality utilizing interfaced modular controllers in one sealed platform
which provides the flexibility for multiple applications and affords scalability.
Included are sensors that sense water level, water temperature, chlorine,
oxygen, carbon dioxide, pressure and pH levels. A display shows actual
readings and an audible/visual alarm if level exceeds set points. The product
includes software that provides closed loop control and feedback of water
quality.
ELECTRONICS PROJECTS
Have you ever heard of an igni-second? You may not have heard of the word,
but you probably have had the misfortune of experiencing it. An igni-second is
the length of time it takes for you to realize you locked your car keys in the
ignition, just as the door slams closed. Obviously, igni-second is not a real
word - but it does represent a very real, very unpleasant occurrence. Locking
the car keys in your vehicle is a common problem that happens all the time.
Our system will integrate the existing technology in the car with a transmitter
to be added on the key chain and a transponder module to be installed in the
car. The transponder will be sending signals at all instances of time. When the
key (transmitter) gets close to the car (transponder), the transponder will
activate the transmitter, which in turn will send a shake-hand signal back to the
transponder. Thus, the transponder knows that the key (transmitter) is in range
of the car, and therefore set a true output signal. Based on that signal and two
other inputs from the door (door [open/shut], lock [locked/unlocked]), the
system will make a decision whether to open or close the car doors (locks). For
cars with manual door locks, we'll provide an electro-mechanical robotic-based
mechanism that will be placed in the driver's door and will connect to our
interface for locking/unlocking. As a consequent part of our solution, a person
will never have to lock or unlock the car upon approaching or leaving the
vehicle, again because it will happen automatically.
The goal of our project is to eliminate the need to car you car keys and
therefore eliminating the possibility of them getting misplaced. Basically our
design allows the user of a vehicle to enter and start his/her vehicle simply at
the touch of a finger. We planned to incorporate a fingerprint sensing device
and processor into the driver side door of a vehicle. An authorized user then
simply puts his/her finger in the sensor to initiate a timing cycle. Upon
authorization the user will have a certain amount of time to enter and start the
vehicle. In our prototype we simulate this by having our system enable and
disable the remote control of a toy car. An authorized user places his/her finger
on the sensor and starts a timing cycle. Our timer will then time from a
minimum of 18 seconds to a maximum of 3 minutes and 10 seconds to enable
the remote. With an enabled remote the user can perform all the functions on
the remote, upon time expiration the remote is disabled and the functions can
no longer be performed. All the devices are powered by converters we built.
These converters run off a 12 volt car battery and step that voltage down to 5
volts. All the circuits are in the prototyping stages and would need
improvement in a final design.
