METHOD STATEMENT

(Installation of Cables and wires)



Scope:

This work procedure covers the Specific Methodology to be adopted in order to carry out the works of
installation of electric cables and wires.

Reference and Related Documents:

Technical submittals and invoices along with related material and samples are attached. Details about
dimensions and specification of material can be taken from these documents.

HSE Measures:

c. Allemployeeswillhavetobefullyskilledandtrainedwhichdidthisjob.
d. Inthenighttherewillhavetobelightingatworkingarea.
e. Inworkingconditionathighworkingareasafetybeltshouldbeused.
f. PPEs required for this job: (Cover all, Helmet; Safety Shoes Cotton Gloves etc)
g. There should be not any monkey behavior that may cause of injury.

Methodology:
The Procedure of insulation of Cable and Wires has been described in the point wise form below

Conduit/Cable Tray: Decision on how the cables should be laid on the site according to the site
location and available space
Hanging: Ensure the proper hanging arrangement; there shouldnt be any sagging in cable trays.
Assembling: Ensure the use of Nut/Bolt Combination for assembling the parts of cable trays
instead of welding.

Project Manager:

In order to coordinate between Site Office and Head Office and with all the other Sub
Contractors, a project manager will be deputed in the office. His basic duties will include liaison
with Consultant, Site engineer, Vender and Sub-contractors.

Check Lists:

a. Electrical work done according to the drawings.
b. Cable sizes are according to the equipment power rating
c. Cable termination is tight
d. Propper sized glands used for termination
e. Wiring is neat and clean, no loose wires in terminal boxes, junction boxes etc.
f. Thimbles and lugs used for termination of wires in the panels and equipment.
g. Cable trays used for cable laying where required.
h. Thermostats are installed in reachable height.
i. Control wiring is according to the requirement of control components.
j. Control wiring power rating is according to the power rating of the components.
k. Cable trays and ladders are not in contact with the electrical panels.
l. All changes in the wiring incorporated in as built drawings.
m. Cables provided with all tags.

Earthing of Equipment:

a. Earthing for all chillers complete with all respect
b. The earthing has been done with body and inside the panels of the chillers saperatly
c. Earthing for AHU's done completely
d. AHU motors and body has been earth properly
e. Earthing for all pumps complete
f. Earthing for AHU's done completely

g. Earthing to motors and AHU body has been done separately


h. Earthing to all FCU motors completed
i. Proper sized thimbles have been used for the earthing of all equipment
j. Proper size of earth cable used for earthing work
k. Proper dressing has been practiced for all the wiring and earthing work
