Title: Graduate Leadership Conference Flier
Description: Using only Adobe InDesign, I needed to design a fier
with the images and text given.
Programs used: Adobe InDesign
Date: 5/10/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: Te message I wanted to get across with this fier was to
provide students the awareness of an opportunity to attend a leadership
conference that would give them the necessary skills to compete in the
business world. Te business world is a professional place, so it only
makes sense to have the fier also look professional. By using fonts and
textures that were aligned and neat, it looked more like something that
would appeal to a person interested in becoming a business man or
woman.
Process: As mentioned before, I used the diferent elements in the
FOCUS process to help me choose diferent ideas. I started out with
four sketches to help get my creativity fowing. From those sketches, I
chose one that was primarily what I wanted and incorporated diferent
elements from the other sketches in order to put it all together. I
created the project in InDesign using diferent tools such as cutting,
pasting and alignment.

Title: StarFire Sports logos
Description: Using only Adobe Illustrator, the assignment was to
create three logos from scratch from a real or fctional company. I
decided to create a company called StarFire Sports and incorporate
both a star and a fame in each design.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Date: 6/7/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: I wanted my designs to draw in my audience so I made
sure I used bright colors and fames for the pictures to capture that
attention. I wanted it to look intense and sporty. Te audience was
centered to people who play sports or that are interested in playing
sports.
Process: I sketched three drawings of Logos for a company I made
up called StarFire sports. I used Adobe Illustrator and tools such as
the pen tool, color schemes and layering. I used the pen tool for two
out of my three designs, so I got very familiar with that and how to
cut out images to modify for myself. I also tried to use diferent
complimentary and triadic color schemes.

Title: Te Happiest Place on Earth
Description: A montage I created to represent the magic of Disney.
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop
Date: 5/31/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: Te message I wanted to get across was for all people
who love Disneyland or Disney in general. I want people to feel
nostalgia when they look at it and feel that childlike happiness they
get when they watch a Disney movie or go to Disneyland.
My intended audience was for anyone who has seen or heard of
anything related to Walt Disney.
Process: I started out with sketching a few things. I noticed that
many times, my sketches resorted to looking sort of like a Mickey
Mouse silhouette. Afer that, I decided to do my montage on
Disneyland, since that is something I am very passionate about.
I started with the background image of the castle and used layer
masks to add in Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.

Title: Serendipity Sales Webpage
Description: A web page I designed to learn the basics of html and
CSS.
Programs used: Text Wrangler, Photoshop, Mozilla Firefox
Date: 6/27/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: Te message of the website I wanted to get across was to
be friendly and sweet, since I am representing a kids fashion bou-
tique. Te colors I used were colors that reminded me of children
because they were light and simple, and also matched my logo.
My audience was mainly directed to women who want to buy
clothes for their children, girls and teenagers.
Process: First, I needed to get familiar with the basics of using
HTML and CSS. I watched a few video tutorials and went through
the attached slideshows to better understand how to use it. I then
used Text Wrangler to connect both my css and html in order to
create a working website that worked with all the diferent coding.
I changed the colors based on the codes found in Photoshop with
my logo, as well as the fonts. Finally, I put them all together in the
html and tested it out a few times in FireFox to make sure it all
worked.

fctional business of Serendipity Sales
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Date: 6/13/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: Te message I was trying to get across with this business
card was something very simple. I wanted to use colors and imag-
es that represented simplicity as well as serendipity. I used a four
leaf clover to represent that serendipity and a complimentary color
scheme that was very light and happy.
Process: I used Adobe Illustrator to create the Logo and also to place
it into the business cards. I used the shape tools, changed the opacity
and strokes to get the project I wanted. I chose fonts that would
interact well with each other and made sure everything was aligned
correctly.

Title: Serendipity Sales Letterhead
Description: Letterhead and Stationery for the fctional sales
company Serendipity Sales.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Date: 6/13/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: My main objective in creating this stationery was to be
consistent with the business card already created. I needed something
light and simple, but something that also looked professional.
Process: I copied the logo that I had created in Photoshop and Illus-
trator, and then I placed in onto a new document. I added any neces-
sary information about the company or my contact information and
then I placed that up in the top lef corner. I ended up just copying
that same logo without any of the other information and placing that
in the bottom right hand corner, changing its opacity to blend into
the background.

Title: Te Road Less Traveled
Description: Completion of my Photodesign project. Te end prod-
uct of me learning to use Photoshop.
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop
Date: 5/23/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: I wanted this to be an inspirational picture. I used this
photo because it is beautiful but I wanted to use nature in order to
get my inspirational point across. I used an inspirational quote that
went along with nature so that the entire project followed that theme.
Te audience this was intended for was basically anyone. I wanted
anyone to be able to look at this and feel good about themselves and
their lives.
Process: First, I uploaded the image into Photoshop. I fxed the con-
trast and exposure so that it was the best quality it could be. I then
made a sketch of what I wanted the end product to look like. I knew
I wanted the image to be the entire background with text overlapping
it. I decided to incorporate rectangles as the shapes, and made it so
they overlapped each other. Finally, I used the color wheel to incor-
porate my complimentary color scheme.

Title: Pickleville Playhouse
Description: Creating a brochure for PickleVille Playhouse located in
Logan, Utah.
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
Date: 7/13/2014
Course # & Section: 1
Instructor name: Cory Kerr
Objective: I wanted to create a brochure to advertise something I real-
ly cared about. I recently went to see a play in the Playhouse and de-
cided to make it for them because I enjoyed it so much and I wanted
to convey that enjoyment and passion to those seeing the brochure.
Process: I frst went onto Photoshop to design a logo for the play-
house. I was able to download two fonts that I liked and use those. I
also used the lasso tool to cut out the shape of a cowboy hat in order
to keep it in the logo. Afer that, I used InDesign to start designing the
brochure. I chose a dark background in order to add contrast. I then
found some images and, using the lasso tool again, I cut them out in
Photoshop and used them in the brochure. Afer all that, I made sure
the text was aligned and created a front and back cover.
