NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Rural Housing Association

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Contractors who are registered with
Constructionline and who wish to be considered for inclusion on a Select List of Contractors
to be invited to tender for the following project:-

Refurbishment of 1 no 2 Bedroom Bungalow at O’Donnell Heights, Castlewellan

The Contract Period of 2 months is programmed to commence in January 2010.

The Estimated Cost is £18,000 excluding VAT.

Contractors must:
1. be registered with Constructionline for Building General, with a status of active and
notation equal to or greater than £18,000
2. have a Health & Safety Management System accredited by an approved 3rd party
accreditation body; and
3. have undertaken works of similar nature and value during the past 3 years

Contractors must provide the following details:

1. A copy of Constructionline Certificate of Registration and a copy of Constructionline

Notation level for Building General.
2. Details of Tax Exemption Certificate (CIS5) or (CIS6) under the Inland Revenue
Construction Industry Scheme.
3. Third Health and Safety Management system – name of accreditation body and
reference/certificate number (Buildsafe – NI Initiative.)
4. Details of 3 similar projects undertaken during the past 3 years to include Client,
Contract name, Project Architect, Telephone Number, brief description of project
including contract value, (pre contract & final account) and project duration
(programmed and actual).
5. Details of Company’s Management Structure and details of the proposed staffing
structure for the project. Enclose CV for the foreman.
6. Confirmation that you are not ‘an unqualified person’ for the purposes of the Fair
Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998.
7. Confirmation of Public and Employers Liability insurance with cover not less than
£10m for any one occurrence or series of occurrences arising out of one event.
8. Written confirmation from a bank, insurance company or equivalent that the
contractor can obtain contract bond facilities to the value of 10% of gross contract
value.

Failure to supply any of the required information may result in the application not being
considered. Rural Housing Association does not bind itself to invite tenders from any
applicant and reserves the right to seek references.
