Part I - Steps needed for execution

The actual steps required for execution are mentioned in PART II of the document
The purpose of this document is to create anti affinity rules so that VMs of same class do not run on
same esxi host .
The rules have been divided as per the general functionality of the VM. The attached excel has the
details of the present and future status of the VM and which group that would go into.
If Remove Anti-Affinity Rule is present it super cedes any other activity that may have been specified.

Part II Steps to Create VM-Host Anti-Affinity Rules:

1>Login to Chicago Vcenter for Amerprise using the Vmware Vsphere client


2>Change the view of Vcenter to hosts and clusters


3>Go to the cluster E3-Primary






4>Right click and go to edit settings


5>Under Edit Settings go to Rules







6>On the right side the Anti-Affinity rules are already available

7>Right Click on the group where you need to add the requested VM


8>A new pop up will appear , scroll and search for the VM and check it on the left side
