Description of iBtPhone App

A . App Introduction
As a function-extending software that runs on Apple iOS products
(iPod Touch/iPad/iPhone)iBtPhone can realize the functions of
Internet surfing, making phone calls, and sending SMS by connecting
jailbroken Apple iOS devices with normal bluetooth feature phones by
way of Bluetooth, therefore utilizing the bluetooth functionality of
Apple products to the greatest extent.
The biggest features of the app:
1 The application of bluetooth mobile (including 3G mobile)
enables the users to use the phone when the iOS devices suffer
from a power shortage or when users cant answer or make
phone calls on those devices.
2 Taking advantage of bluetooth of Apple products, the app can
support most of the devices already supported by Apple
products like bluetooth earphone, bluetooth accessories
dedicated to Apple products, etc.
3 Internet access by way of Apple bluetooth implement makes the
online surfing fast and reliable.
4 The ultralong stand-by time is the advantage of Apple software
and hardware. Because of the exquisite Apple hardware module
and the superb user experience of Apple software system, the
stand-by time of Apple products remains long even when they
are connected to peripherals by bluetooth. Specifically, the
stand-by time of iPod Touch connected to Bluetooth mobile
phone by Bluetooth can reach more than 3 days during
development test. Of course, the actual stand-by time is
determined by the battery condition of devices and the way that
users use them, and the different implement with Bluetooth
mobile.
B . User Guide
For the convenience of users, all functions, which are switched by
the tab option button at the bottom of the application interface,
have been integrated in one app.
Operating Interface of the App:

Main interface includes five modules: i.e.,BTDevs Man, Recents,
Contacts, Keypad and Messages. Their detailed information is given
respectively below..
BTDevs Man:
This module is used to manage Bluetooth devices, include turning
on/off Bluetooth, device connection and connection status display.
After turning on the Bluetooth, like Bluetooth management of iOS
device , the software will scan the Bluetooth devices in its vicinity
and save the devices it finds on device list.

Next, click the device you want to connect and the app will connect
the Bluetooth device.

As soon as the connection succeedsthe connected Bluetooth device
will appear in current devices section. Besides, if the Bluetooth
device supports PAN profile (i.e. Apple Adjoined ring networks), the
traffic will be displayed in network flow information section.
Meanwhile, the connection information (from left to right, the iPod

sign, Adjoined ring connection sign, the Bluetooth signal strength of
mobile phone connected to Apple products , the mobile operator, the
battery level, the Bluetooth connection sign and local battery
information) will be displayed in the status bar in the above.
It should be noted that when WIFI is on, the status bar will still
display the Adjoined ring sign according to the settings of the iOS. In
this case, no data will be sent or received by Bluetooth and the
sent/received data displayed in the interface is the flow generated
when connection is established or when the identity authentication is
processed. Under this circumstances, the network data will be
carried by WIFI rather than Bluetooth.
If you havent used the network provided by Bluetooth for a long
time, the network will disconnect automatically and the Adjoined ring
sign will disappear. In this case, you need to click the connected
device entry in current selection section to enable the Bluetooth
Adjoined ring network again. If the connection is off, click the entry
and it will connect automatically again.
After connecting with Bluetooth mobile phones, you can press and
hold the successfully connected entry in "current selection" (when a
prompting appears) for operations like disconnecting and cancel of
pairing.

Recents:

Recents has saved all call logs. Missed calls are in red color. Click
the entry and the phone will automatically dial the corresponding
phone number. Click the button of an entry and the detailed call
information will be displayedas shown below.

Contacts
The Contacts displays records in system Contacts and has no editing
functions now. Its primary purpose is to facilitate making

calls/sending SMS.

Keypad:
Keypad is used for making phone calls. It should be noted that you
can enter Keypad only when the iOS device is connected with
your Bluetooth phone.

The following picture appears when you click the Keypad your iOS
device is not connected with a Bluetooth phone.

The following interface displays when user is making a phone call.

Messages
This interface shows a list of short messages arranged according to
different contacts and in sequence of date.

Choose an entry from the list and you will enter the interface of more
detailed information and the send-receive interface.

Answering Calls
The following interface is displayed when the user answers a call.

C . List of Bluetooth Phones Supported by
the Software:
Because Apple products have a relatively high requirement on
network, the Bluetooth of mobile phones that support the software
should support Core V2.0 or above and profiles like PAN and HFP
etc.. Whats more, because of different degrees of completeness of
realization of Bluetooth protocol on the part of different mobile phone
manufacturers, many manufacturers fail to fully meet the requirement
of Bluetooth protocol even to the same profile. With tests carried out,
the following mobile phones can do a relatively better job in meeting
the requirement of the software:
Sony Ericson T707 (T707i, T707c). This type of phone is a 3G mobile
phone that supports WCDMA and was used in the development.
Sony Ericson K550 (K550i, K550c) is a GSM type that was also used
in development.
There are many types of Nokia S40 series that have realized Bluetooth
PAN profile. However, because of a lower degree of completeness of
realization of Bluetooth protocol than Sony Ericson mobile phones,
Nokia S40 supports making phone calls/Internet surfing/sending SMS
but doesn't support receiving SMS according to development testing
of the software. 6300 is the type of mobile phone used in the test.
With no tests carried out, the following mobile phone types seem to

fully support the functions of the software (mainly bluetooth PAN
profile). They are:
Sony Ericson mobile phones, many of which are labeled i/c, which
stands for international/Chinese. The two different types of mobile
phones are much the same to each other.

You can find detailed information of many types of mobile phones on

should be noted again that only three type of mobile phones
mentioned above have been tested thoroughly and the usability and
the functionality of the software on other types hasnt been tested.
Hence, it is strongly recommended that the users use the iBtPhoneTest
app (iBtPhhone test version) at first. You can purchase paid version
after feeling satisfied about the test version's functions. If you find any
types of mobile phones which support the software somewhat
satisfactorily and which are not included in above lists, please tell us:
iBtPhone@hotmail.com. It should also be pointed out that the test
version and the paid version are two completely different apps with
different framework. Test version, whose reliability and performance
doesn't compare with paid version, is primarily used for testing the
usability of the software on Bluetooth mobile phones and cant be
used as a product. At present, there is no product-level free edition
available.
By the way, Major Bluetooth mobiles realize the HFP, if you only
used to make/receive calls, this app could satisfy your usage.
D . How to Use Sony Ericson T707 (Similar
with Other Sony Ericson Mobile Phones) and
3G Network Configuration.
To configure the mobile phone:

Enter MenuSettingsConnectivityBluetooth", choose Turn
On and choose Bluetooth visibility. Then enter data account
and check if 3G Network configuration is available. If it is not,
click OptionsNew to create a data connection account with its
name like 3gnet(random name, the followed step will use 3gnet)
and its access point name (i.e. 3gnet, each operator has different
APN ). The rest remains unchanged.
Enter MenuSettingsConnectivityMobile Networks and
choose GSM/3G Networks.
Enter MenuSettingsConnectivityInternet Configuration and
choose 3gnet.
Enter MenuSettingsConnectivityStream Processing Setting
and choose 3gnet.
The phone name is at MenuSettingsConnectivityPhone
Name, you can change to any name.
With the above steps done, you will be able to search and connect
the mobile phone from Apple iOS products.
It should be noted that during the first connection the mobile
phone will prompt you if you want to connect the Internet or not
( choose yes) and if you want to be asked for each connection or
you want the mobile phone to remain always connected (choose
remain always connected). Follow these steps, and keep your iOS
device and your mobile Bluetooth turned on, your phone will
connect automatically as soon as it turned on.
