1. Location and logging in

The departmental archive is a central place to store materials for tuition, research and admin.

The archive can be found at http://decisionsciences.weebly.com/ (click on 'Archive') or
www.besluitkunde.com/archive/

Type your user name (which is your given name) and password (which is your Unisa login
name). Please change this password. Click on your name which appears in the top right corner of
the screen.

2. File management

Upon logging in, there will be several tabs at the top. The first one, Home, shows you lists of
files. You may search and download these.

Dont worry about setting permissions; all staff is given administrator privileges. Because of
that, please be cautious against deleting any files without good reason, especially if you did not
upload them.

To upload a file, click on the Add Document tab.

Typically, there are multiple files that represent a single document (LaTeX style files, graphics,
figures, PDF, etc.). In such a case, first compress all relevant documents together using zip or
rar, to produce a single file that can be uploaded. Do not only upload the final pdf file. Do not set
passwords for such files, it must be possible to download and use the files easily later. If the
system does not support a file type that you would like to upload, tell Richard.

Choose the correct category. The options are self-explanatory.

Add a short description of the document if it is not clear from the file name. You are also
welcome to add comments if there is some important information about the document that would
be useful later.

To download or search for files, go to the Home tab. You can filter by type (exam, tutorial
letter, etc.). You can also click on one of the column headers in the document list (ID, View, File
Name, etc.) to sort the documents. It should now be easy to find the relevant document, given
that the person who uploaded it named and described it correctly.
