A Bountiful Year

From Pastor Aaron...This year has been a year of growing in Christ for all of us. I have learned so much
from all of you, and have grown into knowing what it means to be a leader in the church. Thank you for making me
part of your family here on the peninsula, I have been truly blessed with the best possible match for me in an intern-
ship site. I have been given so many diverse opportunities to learn and grow that have shaped who I am and will
greatly influence my future ministry. It will be hard to say good bye this month but I know that through the Spirit we
are always one.
We have learned so much from one another. From all of you I have learned how to live in a community of
friends and family that continue to grow in Christ. Even when people might disagree, or struggle to get along, the
commitment to each other and Christs church is strong. I have learned from all of you about the importance of
honesty and respect. You all have also taught me about life on the peninsula, such as ice fishing, snowmobiling,
boating, gardening, and so much more. I know that all of us share a passion for Gods Creation and I my passion for
Gods Creation has certainly grown this year, after living on one of Gods true gems, the Rock.
We all have experienced life together. We have laughed together, like on my birthday when everyone at St.
John put on a fake mustache during the service to sign me happy birthday, and have cried together, after losing
friends and family this winter. We have rejoiced together at youth group events, like the splash trip to Castaway Bay
with over 50 people in attendance, and have held our breath together as we wait for the results of a family members
surgery. Thank you so much for accepting me as one of your own and making me feel so at home this year.
Once again thank you for growing with me this year. I believe we all have learned a lot and I hope that per-
haps one day I will hear about another intern at St. Paul and St. John in Lakeside/Marblehead, Ohio, and I will think
to myself how truly blessed they are to have the best internship site in the ELCA. I leave you all with the blessing we
have been saying in church the past few weeks;

May God the sower make you good and fertile soil.
May Christ the seed bloom and grow in your words and actions.
May the fruitful Spirit bring forth a bountiful yield in your lives.
God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit bless you now and forever.

Side-by-Side Ministry
August, 2014
Thank you, Pastor Aaron, for teaching us so many things, like...
God cares about all creation people, creatures of land, sea, and water, plants, and all things
Everything in Gods creation is interconnected, and when one part suffers or rejoices it affects all of us.
Enough kids games to fill an encyclopedia! (If only we can remember them:)
That we can see and hear Gods voice through nature, such as dead fish, a cross found in the sand, and
snow storms.
That young adults have a lot to offer us and stretch our thinking in new ways
That having an intern blesses us and the world, so with Gods help we hope to be an intern site, again.
Please join us on August 10th at our Shelter House Worship at St. Paul as we celebrate our year to-
gether and offer a prayer and blessing for Pastor Aarons last year of seminary and his calling into
Pastoral Ministry.
