The third stage which is known as concrete operational stage revolves around developing logic;
however the abstract and hypothetical concepts still continue to elude them. At this phase the



child is able to step out of his own self and become aware of others feeling around himself which
indicates his progression from egocentricity to sociocentric perspective.
Finally the formal operational stage marks his maturity to comprehend all complex ideas and
theories. In every stage Piaget harps on what the child is unable to do and accordingly frames his
recommendations because we cannot expect the developments of formal operational stage at the
age of two years.

Previously a childs learning progress was calibrated through his performance in class works,
