MANAGEMENT (90 CR ECTS)
MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME
IN MEDIA MANAGEMENT (90 CR ECTS)
Are you looking for tools to manage the rapidly changing media industry? Do you nd yourself in the media industry, struggling
to see the bigger picture? New technology and changing consumer behaviour ofer unlimited opportunities for people able to
respond to creative and managerial challenges. A media manager today does not necessarily have an educational background in
media or culture. We believe that a successful media manager needs to have a multidisciplinary understanding of the media, based
on economics, technology and culture. Management is about nding appropriate resources, and working with and through other
people to accomplish organizational goals.
The Masters programme in Media Management at Arcada presents you with real-life cases and projects useful to a manager in
any media-related company. In Arcadas modern premises you can apply your knowledge hands-on. Stadi.TV is an Arcada-run
Helsinki community television service. It ofers our students a unique opportunity to plan, design and produce both traditional
and interactive media concepts for real platforms.
Strategies and innovations in media are intimately linked to research and development. An important part of the curriculum is to
plan and accomplish your own development project in the form of a Masters thesis. The aim of the thesis project is to advance
the operations or management methods of a creative company or of content industrial actors in general. However you see it, your
Masters education can be seen as providing a wise investment for your employer, if you are currently in the business.

The Nordic market, with its 25 million con-
sumers, is economically and politically stable.
Knowledge and understanding of this market
gives an obvious competitive advantage on
the labour market.
KARSTEN SLOTTE, CEO,

I believe that studying is a life-long invest-
ment. Cooperation among the Nordic coun-
tries will increase in the future. Finland is en-
tirely dependent on its export markets and
Sweden has historically been an important
trading partner.
