Keppel Seghers
Keppel Seghers is a leading provider of
comprehensive environmental solutions,
and provides consultancy, design and
engineering, technology development,
construction, operation and maintenance
of plants and facilities, as well as investments
in large-scale environmental projects.
Keppel Seghers advanced technology solutions
address a wide spectrum of environmental
issues for both solid waste and water.
To date, Keppel Seghers has executed more
than 100 waste-to-energy projects and more
than 350 water and wastewater projects in
more than 25 countries worldwide.
Keppel Seghers is a wholly-owned subsidiary
of the Keppel Infrastructure group, which is
a division of Keppel Corporation Limited, a
leading company listed on the Singapore Exchange.
Keppel Seghers, the environmental arm of
Keppel Infrastructure, is privileged to partner
the Public Works Authority of Qatar to develop
Doha North Sewage Treatment Works (Doha
North STW). This landmark project is the largest
greenfeld wastewater treatment, water reuse
and sludge treatment plant in Qatar and the
Middle East.
With a peak design capacity to treat wastewater
of up to 439,000 cubic metres per day, Doha
North STW will serve a projected population of
over 900,000. This modern facility will feature
advanced biological treatment processes as well
as membrane and ultra-violet technologies to
produce high quality reclaimed water for reuse.
The facility will also be equipped with thermal
drying processes to treat wastewater sludge to
international standards for safe disposal.

Keppel Seghers will design and build Doha North
STW, and subsequently operate the works for a
period of 10 years.
Doha North STW achieves several frsts:
frst wastewater treatment facility in Qatar
to use advanced membrane and ultraviolet
treatment technologies to reclaim high quality
water for non-potable purposes;
frst facility with a comprehensive odour
control system to minimise the impact on
the surrounding environment;
frst facility equipped with modern sludge
treatment processes to receive and treat
sludge generated from not just Doha North
STW but all other sewage treatment works
in Qatar;
the 4km-by-4km bufer zone surrounding
Doha North STW will be carefully landscaped.
First of its kind
In undertaking the Doha North STW, which is one
of the largest international water projects secured
by a Singapore company, Keppel Seghers
taps on the Keppel Groups global expertise
and network to develop the project with
advanced water treatment technologies
and sustainability concepts.
With a proven track record of environmental
projects in 25 countries, including the advanced
Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant in Singapore,
Keppel Seghers will harness innovative,
proven and practical solutions to deliver
cost-efective solutions to the international
water community.

Treatment Works
Qatar
Developing sustainable water technology for over 30 years, Keppel Seghers leverages its advanced water solutions in
projects such as the Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant in Singapore, which produces 148,000 m
3
of ultra clean water a day
The wastewater at Doha North Sewage Treatment Works undergoes advanced biological treatment before membrane and
ultra-violet treatment to produce high quality reclaimed water.
Doha North STW serves as a model project of
sustainable development for communities
worldwide. Incoming wastewater will be treated
to international standards for safe disposal and
for re-use. The facility will be a source of water
supply for non-potable use, thereby freeing up
precious drinking water supply for the
community. Treated sludge can be used as
soil conditioning.
Doha North STW draws the best ideas from
multiple global agencies to address the
challenges of water sustainability and
sustainable development through the use of
sophisticated technologies and cost-efective
integrated water solutions.
