Introduction

Provide a brief introduction of the experiment by
explaining its background and the significance.
The introductions should be able give the reader a
brief description of the experiment or an
overview. It should also be able to discuss how
the current experiment is related to the preceding
and succeeding experiments.

Objectives

The objectives should be properly exposed and
stated in terms of the English grammar and logic.
It will also include in this section the objectives
stated by the instructor for the experiments.
However, it is not limited to the objectives
provided. It may also include the researchers
objectives for performing the experiment.

Materials and Apparatuses

State all the apparatuses and materials used in the
experiment. State also the quantity needed to
perform the experiment.
Example:
Oven 1 set
Beam Balance 1 set
Shovel 2 units
Pallet 3 units
Auger 1 unit
Soil Container 3 pieces

Methodology

State the referenced standards used in the
experiment. Simplify the procedures from the
standards. Make use of diagrams in explaining the
procedures. You may also use photos as
documentations of your procedures.

Data and Results

Present only the critical results which are very
significant. For other supporting data, you may
place it in another page. You may no longer
follow the formatting. Describe the elements in
your tabulated data. Comprehensive data set with
proper labels and units; shows the computations
used to arrive with the valid results with tables,
graphs and etc.
Sample Data:

Table 1. Soil Profile
Sample Moisture Content Specific Gravity
Soil 1
Soil 2
Soil 3

Table 2. Sample Chart

Data Analysis

In this section, the analysis should be able to
discuss and interpret the results of the experiment
and their relationships in the light of existing
theories and facts. The reasons for the
discrepancies for the results should also be stated.
The relationships between the variables are
discussed and trends/patterns logically analyzed.
Predictions are made about what might happen if
part of the lab were changed or how the
experimental design could be changed. Plotting
your data through a graph will help you in
analyzing the patterns.

Conclusions

The conclusion should be in the writers/students
own words and it must be related to the objectives
of the experiment. The conclusion/s includes
statements which supports or nullify the
hypothesis expressed coherently with the results
and analysis.
