Coca Cola
1. The red and white Coca-Cola logo is recognized by 94% of the world's population. Reportedly, its
name is the second-most understood term in the world, behind "okay."
2. Coca Cola became the first brand to record 50 million likes on Facebook and currently has
over 75 million fans on the social media site.
Google
1. Gmail was used internally for nearly 2years prior to launch to the public. They discovered there
was approximately 6 types of email users, and Gmail has been designed to accommodate these

Apple
1. Apple once had more cash in the bank than the US Treasury had money to spend. According to
the Financial Post, during the debt ceiling crisis in July 2011, Apple Inc. boasted cash reserves of
$75.88 billion while Washington had an operating balance of $73.77 billion!
2. Apple never pays for product placement, unlike other brands which spend millions of dollars on
getting their products into popular TV shows and movies. Apple, however, is willing to provide
any products to any production that wants to do that.
IBM
1. One of the worlds oldest technology companies, IBM has been thriving in this space for over
101 years, long after companies like DEC, Wang etc. shut down. By continually adapting and
reinventing itself, it has transformed a hardware business into one more focused on software
and services.
2. After selling its PC business, IBM began the task of rebuilding its brand in 2003 with a company-
wide intranet 72-hour global 'ValuesJam' where every employee was asked to answer the
question if IBM were to disappear tonight, would the world be any different tomorrow? Their
response to this led to IBMs mission statement which later became the basis of the Smarter
Planet marketing campaign.
