HYMNs OF PRAISE
7:30 a.m. Chorus
Blessed assurance No, never alone, no never alone
He promised never to leave me,
Verse I Never to leave me alone.
Blessed assurance, Jesus is Mine! No, never alone, no never alone
O what a foretaste of glory divine! He promised never to leave me,
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Never to leave me alone.
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Verse II
Chorus The world’s fierce winds are blowing,
This is my story, this is my song, Temptation’s sharp and keen
Praising my Savior all the day long, I have a peace in knowing
This is my story, this is my song, My Savior stands between
Praising my Savior all the day long. He stands to shield me from danger
When all my friends are gone,
Verse II He promised never to leave me,
Perfect submission, perfect delight! Never to leave me alone
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight, Repeat chorus
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Verse III
Repeat Chorus When in affliction’s valley
I tread the road of care
Verse III My Savior helps me carry
Perfect submission all is at rest, The cross so heavy to bear
I in my Savior am happy and blest; Though all around me is darkness
Watching and waiting, looking above, And earthly joys are flown
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. My Savior whispers His promise
Repeat Chorus Never to leave me alone
Repeat chorus
11:00 a.m.
Never alone Verse IV
He died on Calv’ry’s mountain
I’ve seen the lightning flashing
For me they pierced His side
And heard the thunder roll
For me He opened that fountain
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing,
The crimson, cleansing tide
Trying to conquer my soul
For me, He’s waiting in glory
I’ve heard the voice of Jesus
Upon His heavenly throne
Telling me still to fight on
He promised never to leave me,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone
Never to leave me alone.
Repeat chorus

STORIES OF ST. FRANCIS

St. Francis was a remarkable man who lived from 1182 A.D. to
1226 A.D., and is renowned for his love of animals. It is believed that
once he preached a sermon to a field of sparrows.
He told the birds how lucky they were that God had made them to
fly and that they always had feathers for clothing and that God had given
them beautiful rivers and streams for water, tall trees in which to nest,
and all varieties of food. St. Francis told the birds that because of God’s
goodness, they should be grateful every day and sing their praises to God
constantly. Legend says that while St. Francis was delivering this power-
ful message to the sparrows, they all sat quietly, listening, and not one
flew away.
Ask yourself these questions: If St. Francis were preaching to us, how
would he say that God has blessed us? The birds sing in gratitude. What
can we do to show our gratitude to God for our many blessings?
