frequently asked questions, system requirements, and known issues for version 4.0.
BookMyne 4.0 for Android includes a complete redesign of BookMyne that is focused
on smooth, stable performance and simplicity. Version 4.0 also brings BookMyne for
Android into the BLUEcloud release cycle, which means we are able to get updates
and fixes to you faster than ever before. BookMyne 4.0 for Android is administered
through Universal Admin, the universal configuration and management tool for
BLUEcloud products. In addition to the these improvements, version 4.0 lets you:
Search for libraries by name, or browse a list of nearby libraries.
Search for books by title, author, or subject and place holds on interesting items.
Use your devices camera to scan the barcode on a book, CD, DVD, or other item
at a friends house or bookstore and search for available copies at your library.
Download ebooks from your librarys catalog to your mobile device.
Note: Only ebooks with a bibliographic record can be downloaded through
BookMyne at this time. We are currently piloting eResource Central in
BookMyne, with a general release coming soon.

Frequently asked questions
With all the improvements and changes to BookMyne for Android, we're sure you'll
have a few questions. Read below for answers to some of the most common
questions.
How do Ienable version 4.0 for my Android users?
If your library was already published in BookMyne 3.0.1, then your Android users
can already enjoy version 4.0 by simply downloading it from Google Play. If you
want to make changes to your library's BookMyne settings, then sign in to Universal
Admin to make these changes, and then republish your library to BookMyne (for
more information, see the BookMyne 4.0 Setup Guide on the SirsiDynix Support
Center). If your library is not currently using BookMyne and you'd like to start,
please contact SirsiDynix Customer Support.
Do I need to recreate all of my library's BookMyne settings in Universal
Admin?
Nope! We've already taken care of that for you by migrating your library's
BookMyne settings from Library Directory into Universal Admin. If you don't want to
make any changes to your settings, then your library is ready to be used in
BookMyne.
In rare cases the migration could have encountered errors that prevent BookMyne
from functioning with your library. Please contact SirsiDynix Customer Support if
you encounter any problems with your library's BookMyne configuration, or if you
need help configuring BookMyne for your library.
DoI still use Library Directory to make changes to my library's BookMyne
settings?
Yes, but only for your library's BookMyne settings for iOS. You will now use
Universal Admin to configure your library's BookMyne settings for Android. Once we
have released BookMyne 4.0 for iOS, then you will configure all of your library's
BookMyne settings through Universal Admin (for more information, see the
BookMyne 4.0 Setup Guide on the SirsiDynix Support Center).
What is Universal Admin, and why have my settings been migrated there?
Universal Admin is a unified configuration and management tool for all BLUEcloud
products. As more and more of our products move to the BLUEcloud release cycle,
we are moving settings from other places, such as Library Directory, into Universal
Admin. Since BookMyne 4.0 for Android brings the Android version into the
BLUEcloud release cycle, the Android version settings are now administered through
Universal Admin. This also helps us prepare for the 4.0 release on iOS, at which
point all of your library's BookMyne settings will be configured through Universal
Admin for both Android and iOS.
4
How do Iget a Universal Admin user account?
If you already have a Universal Admin user account but don't have sufficient
administrative privileges to manage BookMyne 4.0 for Android, request these
privileges from your library administrator who controls the main Universal Admin
user account for your library.
If you don't have a user account but your library has already received one, request a
user account from your library administrator.
If your library still needs a main Universal Admin user account, or you have any other
questions, please contact SirsiDynix Customer Support.
Is this the HTML5 version of the app?
Yes, this version of BookMyne takes advantage of a hybrid HTML5/native
architecture. With this new architecture, we can get updates and fixes to you faster
than ever before.
When will BookMyne 4.0 for iOSbe released? What about BookMyne+ for
Android?
BookMyne 4.0 for iOS and BookMyne+ for Android will be built on the same HTML5
core as BookMyne for Android. Some development is required to build the iOS
wrapper to integrate with device cameras and to allow library and user management.
Additional development will be required to support library specific customizations for
BookMyne+. This development will be taking place over the coming months. The
public roadmap published on the SirsiDynix Support Portal reflects our best estimates
of when these new versions will be available.
Why don't Isee BookMyne in the Amazon/another Android marketplace?
For now, BookMyne for Android is only available for download through Google Play.
What languages are supported with this release of BookMyne for Android?
Universal Admin is currently only available in English, but BookMyne has already
been localized into several languages (see the list below). We will continue to add
localizations for both Universal Admin and BookMyne in future updates.
Do you want to see BookMyne in another language? Do you have feedback about a
translation in your native language? You can help! Contact us at docs@sirsidynix.com
