Theculturesoftheearthplaneallhavecountlessstoriesofangelscontacting,rescuing,andbringingmessages
tous.Thehistoricalrecord,intheBibleandintheoraltraditionspassedfromonegenerationtothenext,isfullof
accounts of connections made from entities appearing and communicating in profoundly meaningful ways. The
wisdom of the divine has, by all of accounts, been given in such purposeful ways as to reveal an agenda of
unconditionalloveandconcernforourwellbeingandevolution.
In her book, The Angel Book (1988), author Karen Goldman says, Angels have been spoken of by all the
greatestsaints,prophetsandpoetsthroughhistory.Theyvebeensungaboutanddreamedof,sculptedandpainted,
andhungfromwindowsandceilingsthroughthecenturies.AngelsarementionedhundredsoftimesintheBible.
Thereisanunmistakableandprofoundreasonwhyeveryculture,everyreligion,everynationdownthroughtheages
andineverypartoftheworldextolsangelsasfitrepresentationsofmanshighestconceptionofloveandgoodwill.
Thisconstantreminderofthedivinepresenceinthestoriesofourculturesisempowering.Itbringsusthehopetofeel
theconnectionofourselvestothespiritualrealmweallshare.
Goldmancontinueswithapoeticexplorationofhowthiscontactwiththedivineimpactsus:Theyaffectour
highestsenses,inspireournoblestthoughts,reflectourgreatestaspirations.Wecannotoverlookthemasapartofour
existence.Angelscancomeinourdreamsorasuddenflashofinspiration.Theycancomeasaballoflightorthrough
astrangerthatshowsupjustinamomentofgreatneed.Theseinspiringwordsshowhowwecanbenurturedby
reachingouttoourguides,tothepresencethatlovesuswithoutjudgmentandwithmindfulnesstoourconnections
witheachother.

WhatIsAnAngel?
Thewordangelmeansmessenger.Angelsareliterallymessengerswhoarethemselvesthemessage.Angels
areholybeingswhoperformdivinetasksintheserviceoftheHolySpiritandthegreatergood.Theybringmessages
ofhopeandjoy.Inherbook,AskYourAngels(1992),AlmaDanielbeautifullydescribestheirnature:Angelsare
citizensofinnerspacewhoseresponsibilitiesincludetheharmoniousorganizationoftheinhabiteduniverseSome
peoplebelieveangelsarethethoughtsofGod,whileothersholdthattheyarethecreationofthedivineMotherSpirit.
Angels work with our souls in conjunction with the universal mind, to help us raise our sights and spirits by
remindingusofthetruth,purity,andgoodnessthatexistswithineverything.
Allmajorreligionsoftheworldincludecelestialcosmologies.Theirscripturesallcontainreferencestoangelic
interventions. In Hebrews 13:2 it says, Be careful when entertaining strangers, for by so doing, many have
entertainedangelsunawares.Youmayhaveinteractedwithangelswholooklikehumanswithoutbeingawarethey
areheavenlybeings.Thus,anyonewhoactsangelicallyisanangel.TheTalmudsays,Everybladeofgrasshasan
angelbendingoveritsaying,grow,grow.Everyflower,tree,raindrop,andlivingthinghasanangeloverseeingits
lifecycle.
SophyBurnham,inherbookABookOfAngels(1990),writesoftheexperiencesofGeorgeWashingtonand
RussianCosmonautswhohadangelicencounters.GeorgeWashington,whocouldnotswim,wasatValleyForgewhen
hefelloutofaboat.Ashewassinking,hefelthandspushhimuptothesurface,savinghislife.AgroupofsixRussian
Cosmonauts,whowereatheists,sightedabandofangelsupinspaceontwoseparateoccasions.Theywereperforming
medicalexperimentswhensuddenlytheywereblindedbyabrilliantorangeglow.Theysawsevengiantfiguresinthe
formofhumans,butwithwingsandmistlikehalos.Theyappearedtobehundredsoffeettallwithawingspanasgreat
asajetliner.Theirfaceswereround,withcherubicsmilesandtheywereallidentical.Thebandofangelsfollowedthe
spacecapsuleforabouttenminutesandthenvanished.Twelvedayslaterallsevenangelsreturnedandthistimethree
morescientistssawthemaswell.Theyweresmilingasthoughtheysharedaglorioussecret.

WhatIsThePurposeOfAngels?
Theheavenlypurposeofourangelsistogivecomfort,guidance,andprotectionaswejourneythroughthe
stagesofourlives.Eachoneofushasatleasttwoangelswithus.OneisourGuardianangel,presentwithusfrom
birthtilldeath.Theotherisaguide,oftenanancestorthathaschosentoinspireandassistusinrememberingour
lifespurposeandindiscoveringourgiftsandtalentsinhowtoservetheworld.
Angelsareheretoshowusourownpossibilities.Theyletusknowwehaventbeenforgotten,andextenda

handtouswhetherweneedaliftornot.Throughtheirintentionstheyreacquaintuswitheverythingwonderful
aboutlivingsothatwecanberemindedofwhatourlifepurposeis.Whenanangelgivesusglimpsesofourown
journeyhome,itcausesamiraclewithinus.Thatmiracleisthegreatestpoetrythesoulcaneverknow.Ourangels
singwithjoywhentheyseeusfeelingpeacefulandhappy.Ifweletthem,theycanamplifythatjoy.

WhyAreAngelsHere?
Angelsareheretoassistusinraisingourvibration.Intheprocess,theyhelphealourlivesandtheworld.
Moreandmorepeoplearereportingencounterswithheavenlybeings.AccordingtoDoreenVirtueinherbook
HealingWithTheAngels(1999),Intheirencounters,angelsdelivertimelymessages,healingremedies,andlifesaving
measures.Whyareangelscirclingourglobesomuchlately?Partlybecauseofourprayersforheavenlyassistance,
andpartlybecauseGodandtheangelsknowthatitstimeforustohealourselves,ourlives,andourworld.Aswe
movethroughthemillennialshift,theangelsarehelpingushealthechallengesandillsthatkeepusfromlivingour
highestpotential.TheangelsareheretoteachusthatGodsloveanswersallquestionsandchallenges.Theyarehere
tohealusfromtheeffectsoffear.Theangelsarepowerfulhealers,andyoucanworkwiththemtospeeduptheir
healingefforts.Themoreweinviteangelsintoourlives,themorereadilyourlivesreflectthesplendorofheaven.
Therearenolimitstoangelshealingpower.Eachcontactandconversationwithyourangelsisfilledwithallthe
tenderness,love,andwondermentofdiscoveringabestfriendyouhaveknownforever.Talkingwithangelsisan
entirely natural relationship, although over the centuries its become obscured by the belief that if you cant see
somethingortouchit,itisntreal.Theangelsarehere.Theyarewithuswhetherwebelieveinthemornot.
Thehealingtaskofangelsistohelpusshiftvibrationalfrequenciestotheirhighestrate.Thisistheprocessof
ascension.WeareallonthepathwayofdiscoveringthatweareonewithGod.Whenwetrulyunderstandandlive
with this knowledge, we are in the state of ascension. This knowledge profoundly effects every interaction with
others.Thinkforamomenthowyourlifewouldbeifyouwereconsciouslyawarethateveryonewithwhomyou
talkedwasthedivineaspectofyourGodself.Youwouldfeelcompleteandtotallovefortheseindividualsandfor
yourself.Youwouldexperiencelifeasaheavenonearth.Angelswanttohelpyouadapttoachangingworldby
givingyouenergyandguidancethatwillshiftyourfrequency.Theangelshelpyoutodosobygivingyousigns,
signals,anddivineguidancetohelpyoumaintainpeaceofmind.
IntheirbookTheLiftingOftheVeil(1994),ThomasKellerandDeborahTaylorquotetheangelsassaying,
DearlyBeloved,Itisourgreatestjoytobewithyouandassistinallthatyoumightwishtoaccomplish.Yetif,when
youareaboutyourworkandplay,andyoufindyourselfsaying,Iwilldothis,andareblindtousasyouattemptto
fulfillyourdesires,wearehelplesstoassist.Butif,beforeyoubeginyourexpression,youasktheFathertosendHis
Angelstoshareinyourexperience,thenlisten,forwewillbethere,standingclosetoguidethehandandwhisperin
theear.Yes,wewillbeapartassurelyasyoucall,foryoucannotcallwithoutourresponse.Wedelighttobewith
youandshareinyourexpression.So,inallthingsthatyoudo,asktheFathertoletussharewithyouwhatweseeas
livinglove.Whenwesharewithyouinthisway,livinglovedrawsclosertousandclosertoyouintheprocess,weall
grow.TheangelswantustoknowthatwhenweexpressourtalentsweexperienceGod.ThatexpressionofGod
giventalentscallsforthanangeltoassistandenhancethatgivenattribute.

WhatDoAngelsLookLike?
Angelsareseenasradiantpulsingbeingsofmultidimensionalspheresoflight.Theycanbeseenasspirals
andconesoflightranginginsizefromadottoagalaxy.Theirfibersofflowingenergyextendoutwardlytimelessand
spacelesstoeverypartoftheuniverse.Thesefibersareperceivedaswingsorhalos.Thelargertheyappearthemore
collectivetheirfunction.Angelsareandrogynous,havingbothmaleandfemalequalitiesalongwiththeirindividual
characteristics. They come to us much on their own terms, appearing in ways that are highly personal to each
individual.Sometimestheycomeindisguisestoo,asanimals,nature,orhumanformswemayormaynotrecognize.
Truly,however,angelsareformlessconsciousnessatthecore,justlikeweare.

healingisneededthemost.Ifyouareahealerorneedhealing,invokeRaphael.Thispowercanbebroughttobearon
physical,mental,andemotionalillness.
Uriel:(FireofGod,alsoLightofGod.)ArchangelsofsalvationstoodatthegateofEdenwithafierysword.They
weresentbyGodtowarnNoahoftheimpendingflood.Urielbringstransformativeenergiestothemindinworkingwith
science,economics,politicsandanythingthatinvolvesorganizations,systems,structuresandallworkrelatedissues.
Ariel:(Lion/LionessofGod.)Thisangelcontrolsthedemons.He/SheisoneofthesevenPrinceswhorulesthe
watersandisknownasearthsgreatLord.Bringscourageandworkswiththeanimals,especiallynearwater.

RelatedElementalBeings
Naturespiritscouldberegardedasthecousinsoftheangelicfamily,andareonadifferentwavelength.They
arethedevas,fairies,andgnomes.Theyarethepresidingpatternsthatoverseeallplantsandminerals.Theynurture
physical environments which they do independently of human efforts. You can connect with the nature spirits
wheneveryoutendtoyourplants,followimpulsestohugatree,walkinagarden,oreatanythingthathasbeen
grown.
Ourhumanbodiesalsohavenaturespiritsordevas.Thedevasofourbodiesaretheorganizingprinciplesthat
coordinatetheimmenseamountofinformationconstantlyflowingthroughthephysicalbody.Youmightthinkofthese
spiritsastinkererswhokeepthephysicalbodytunedandinworkingorder,workingatthecellularlevel.

HowAngelsWork
Angelsworkinsubtleandnaturalways.Theyworkthroughourthoughts,dreams,music,art,drama,andthe
writtenword.Theyalsoconnectwithhumansthroughflowers,sunshine,andrain.Theyplantseedsinthemind,
guide, protect, comfort, inspire, heal, and enlighten. Angels come into dreams and visions. Angels make their
presenceknownthroughoursenses,suchasasuddensoftbreezeorascentofflowers.Humansmightfeelgoose
bumpsoratinglingsensationwhenangelsarenear.Angelsareliterallywaitingforyoutoask,andwillnotgenerally
interferewithyourlifeplan.Althoughtheybeenknowntohelpusinwaysthatweareunawareof,theydojoyfully
respond to being asked.Burnham says in A Book Of Angels (1990), Angelscome as visions, voices, dreams,
coincidences,andintuition,thewhisperofknowledgeatyourear.Theycomeasanimalsorotherpeople,orasawash
ofpeaceinanailingheart.Sometimesastrangermaycomeupandgiveyoujusttheinformationorassistanceyou
need.Sometimesyouyourselfareusedasanangel.Whenweask,ourangelswillopenustoalevelofwisdomand
understandingthatisrarelyavailabletousinordinaryconsciousness.Theangelscomeintoallofourlivesinavariety
of ways. Some people meet them directly in person or in visions and dreams. Others have felt their scintillating
presenceorhearthemspeakingorsinging.Stillothershaveexperiencedthemasmuseswhoinspirethemcreatively

BlocksToAngelicConnections
Negativity is a big block to feeling and connecting to the angels around us. If we are clogged up with
negativitywecantopentoourangels.Whenweletgowefreetheenergytoreceivethewisdomandlovetheybring
us.Angelsaskyoutounburdenyourselfbyforgivinginordertosetyourselffree.Forgivenessisawayoffreeingyour
spiritandbecominganunlimitedbeing.Theywantyoutoletyourlightshinesoyoucanbeablessingtotheworld,
andalsobeanangelforothers.Asktheangelstosurroundyou,yourfamily,andyourhomewithwhitelight.
Thecalmeryouareemotionally,thecleareryoucaninwardlyperceive.Turnoffexternalsensingandturnon
internalheartsensing.Looktoyourheartratherthanyourhead.Imaginehowfrustratingitmustbetobearounda
lovedonealldaylongwhonevernoticesyouortriestocommunicatewithyou.Thisishowitfeelsforanangel
sometimes,especiallywhentheangelwantstohelp,butcannotunlessyouaskforthehelp.Whenyoutrustandtune
intoyourangelyouwillbedivinelyprotectedandguidedinlifeinthemostheavenlyways.

WaysToCommunicate
Thefirststepincommunicatingistohaveanintentiontoconnecttoyourangelicfriends.IntheEpistleof
JamesintheBible,itreads:Drawneartotheangelsandtheywilldrawneartoyou.
Thesecondstepistofindwaystogowithin.Afewsuggestionstotuneintoyourangelicteamistofirstfinda
quietplace,awayfromalldistraction,perhapsinnature,tomeditateandpray.Imagineyourangelinyourmind.
Simply talk to your angels about your problems as if they are your best friends. Then listen tothethoughtsand
feelingsthatcome.Bespecificinyourrequest.Visualizebrilliantlightsurroundingtheproblemorsituation.Believe
andreceivethisblessing.Seeyourselfandothersthroughtheeyesofanangel.Listenforawhisperinyourheart.
