SITE PLAN
1) the site when visited was unhealthy and filthy as it was stagnated with
food scraps along with waste water from houses as flies and mosquitoes
accumulated on it.
2) this 2.8 to 3m gully was not amenable for public purpose on account of
being dirty even though it was direct connection to the main road.
3) as the windows opened in the gulley the resident of the buildings had
easy accessibility for throwing the waste and water.
OBSERVATIONS
CONCLUSION
1) utilizing the spaces in between the buildings so as to achieve connectivity to the main road.
2) improvisation of the poor hygiene.
3) to increase the green belt zone in the space to achieve ecological balance.
4) composting the food waste into manure.
5) channelisation of the rainwater and household water which can be beneficial for the green belt in the space.

the food scraps and waste water from kitchen are discharged
into the pipe attached to the window cill.
rain water down take pipes from terraces as well as chajja are
connected to the food waste pipe.
the food waste and water from all windows of house are channelized
through a single pipe into the composting bins placed
on the ground level.
the idea of having two composting bins is to allow one bin to undergo the
process of composting and other bin to store the waste until the
compost is ready.
simultaneously the bin which is full of waste later undergoes composting and waste is accumulated in the first bin.
water being accumulated on the top surface inside the composting bins is discharged through the pipe which is used for watering the plantation
on the edge of the building facade.
a vent pipe is provided on the upper level of the bin for emission of toxic gases produced during the process of composting.
an opening is provided on the side surface of the bin to remove the manure when it is ready.
the formed manure is now spread on the plantation.
the creepers from the ground level are grown on the nylon threads attached to the cill of the windows in
the residence.
composting significantly reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, discourages plants, pests, disease, produces
greater crop yields, and purifies contaminated soil.
in essence, composting recycle these basic elements and transforms them into materials that can be
reintroduced into the gardens lifecycle.

conclusion after implementation :
1) the designed space between the buildings is
energy efficient as it is mainly dependent on
the organic resources present in the
surrounding.
2) the rain water as well as the waste water from
household is utilized for watering the plants.
3) the solid food waste stagnated at the surface
of the site is used in preparation of manure by
composting.
4) by implementation of composting and rain
water harvesting gave boost for the
development of green zone in the space.
5) these modifications have made the space
healthy,clean and approachable for public
use.

design process:
simplicity :
"effective organizational design"
the rural design need not to be complex as it is used by the public having
simple thoughts and the relationship among the design should be straightforward.
flexibility : every system should be sufficiently flexible to intergrate changes that may
occur in the nature.
reliability : it is the consistency with which the operations are maintained.
acceptability : any design should be designed taking into consideration that it should be
accepted by the people who operates it.

CENTER FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM
-THERAPEUTIC EDUCATIONAL UNIT UNDER PEDIATRIC MEDICAL CARE FACILITY
CAUSE FOR ACTION
Site based issue- Nanded being a city
where facility for special children is limited
hence, proposing a center where the
treatment,therapy,education,care,rehabilitati-
-on,conduct,training under one roof will
contribute in promotion of the future of these
children.
SURVEY - Response of the guardians faced by
psychiatrists after the diagnosis report
parents are at denial.
they are not ready to accept the fact due to
emotional breakdown.
WHAT IS AUTISM ???
Autism is a complex developmental condition that typically manifests in the first three years of life, and often is evident much
earlier. It causes impairment, or differences from acceptedtypical development, in three main
areas. social unJerstanJing, communication, anJ imagination more specilically in social imagination.
Individuals with autism may show unusual responses to sensations. Any one or more of the senses may be affected. All
these difficulties can be evident in their behaviour, and people with autism may therefore have non-typical ways of relating to
people, objects and events in their environment.
