a) Oil flows through a 25 mm diameter horizontal pipe with mean velocity of 0.3 m/s. Given

b) Water is flowing over a rectangular weir of width 35 cm into a cylindrical tank of
diameter 75 cm. In 20 seconds the depth of water in the tank rises 1.2 m. By assuming
a discharge coefficient of 0.9 for this weir, calculate the height of water above the weir in
mm.

c) In Figure 4, water is flowing from section 1 to section 2 at a constant rate where water
