This is an API U two days workshop on API 6D
& 6DSS Specification, for Pipeline Valves. Each
section of the current edition of Specification 6D
is covered in detail, followed by a section-by-
section coverage of API 6DSS highlighting the
common requirements and the differences
between the two specifications. Topics include
valve types, pressure, temperature ratings and
sizes, materials, quality control, required valve
features, testing, and manufacturing. And also
brief the relationship of these specifications and

Instructor Profile
Mr. V L SRIDHARAN is a Mechanical
Engineer and carries a post diploma in
Metallurgical Engineering. He carries 42
years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
He has over 4 Decades of expertise in Valve
Manufacturing, Designing, Quality control
and Maintenance.
He is an Authorised Pressure Vessel (API
510), Piping (API 570), Above Ground
Storage Tank Inspector (API 653) of API. He
is also an AWS Certified Welding Inspector
& an ASNT Level II in PT, MT, RT, UT, VT. He
has extensive experience in conducting
training courses for senior professionals
from several leading companies in Middle
East, Africa & Asia. He is also the Chairman
of American Society of Materials (ASM
International) Chennai Chapter, Founder
Member of Indian Society of Non-
Destructive Testing, and holds positions in
several technical societies in India.
