WHAT HOME SETUP DO
I NEED TO EXPERIENCE
DOLBY ATMOS?
In order to fully enjoy Dolby Atmos content in your home,
youll need the following setup:
A new A/V receiver (AVR) or pre-processor that supports
Dolby Atmos, e.g. ONKYO TX-NR1030, TX-NR3030 or other
upcoming Onkyo receivers supporting Dolby Atmos
At least two overhead speakers or two new Dolby Atmos
enabled speakers or add-on modules
A Blu-ray Disc player, compatible Blu-ray game console,
or connected streaming player set to its bitstream output
option
or
A dedicated, multichannel home-theatre-in-a-box system
ethat supports Dolby Atmos and incorporates the Dolby
speaker technology as a built-in ingredient
Consumers will not need to replace their Blu-ray players as
long as they fully conform to the Blu-ray specication, for
seamless connections. Current-generation Blu-ray players,
and most older players, are compatible. Consumers should
check with the Blu-ray player manufacturer if they encoun-
ter problems.
Best of all, A/V receivers that support Dolby Atmos also
bring new life to traditional channel-based surround sound-
tracks, so youll get a better audio experience even without
a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.

DOLBY ATMOS AUDIO
WORK?
Dolby Atmos combines static audio elements referred to
as the bed, with its stirring bass and rich audio textures
and sound objects that move around and above you in
multidimensional space. This adds a new height dimension
and a dynamic movement of sound never before part of a
home theatre experience.

What is the difference between Dolby Atmos in
the cinema and Dolby Atmos in the home?
The cinema, with its giant screen and massive sound sys-
tem, will always be the reference for the ultimate enter-
tainment experience. While home theatres have fewer
speakers, the Dolby Atmos home experience is extremely
powerful. It combines traditional home theatre speaker
layouts with either ceiling-mounted speakers or new Dolby
enabled speakers that create a plane of sound above the
listener. The impact of either in-ceiling or Dolby enabled
speakers is breathtaking; your room lls with realistic, mul-
tidimensional sound that places you directly in the center
of the entertainment experience.
