Indonesia

When many call Indonesia HOME its


described as a memorable, interesting and
beautiful place to be. With a population over
246.9 million, Indonesia is the 4
th
most
populated country in the world. Indonesias
capital city, Jakarta is the largest city in
Indonesia. Indonesia is made out of 13 major
cities and 17,000 islands.
Jakarta has a population of 9.608 million and
is also known as the Special Capital Region
of Indonesia. The difference between Melbournes time zone and Indonesias time zone is 3 hours different therefore
when its 2.00pm in Melbourne, Indonesias time is 11.00am so Indonesias time is 3 hours behind. The students in
Jakarta go to school from 6.00am to 1.00pm with only recess included and lunch not
during school time. The governor of Jakarta is Joko Widido was elected in 2014 on July
the 25
th
and known as the great man to lead Indonesia.
After World War II ended, Indonesia finally had peace and named that day
Independence day on the 17
th
of August 1945. On the 27
th
of December 1949 the
Netherlands recognized Indonesias Independence and celebrated the day with a big
feast. The biggest religion in Indonesia is Muslim with 88% and their language spoken
is Bahasa Indonesia. Indonesians currency is rupiah. 1,000 rupiah equals to $10 in
Australia. Indonesias National Anthem/Song is Indonesia Raya which means Great
Indonesia.
Indonesias main natural resources are natural gas, coal, gold, silver and copper. Some
Major imports from other countries are machinery, chemicals and fuel, and some Major
Exports are oil, gas, plywood and rubber.
The total size of Indonesia is 1,919,440 square metres which is slightly less than three
times the size of Texas. The worlds region/continent is Southeast Asia over 140 million people live on an island called
Java, which is also known as home of the Muslim population. Major Cities that have a big population are Jakarta
with 9.121, Surabaya with 2.509, Bandung with 24.12, Medan with 2.131 and Semarang with 1.296 million. The
climate in Indonesia is a wet and dry season, yet not a lot of sunny days coming through throughout the year because
of the natural disasters like the Volcano eruptions.
As you can see Indonesia is full of amazement and it is where you can call this place HOME.
