Welcome to the University of Sussex and welcome back to those
of you returning from the Christmas break. This newsletter is
produced to inform International Students about events and
opportunities provided by the Careers and Employability Centre
(CEC).
We offer free impartial careers advice, study skills help, and a chance
to meet employers. We can help you to find and apply for part time
work, graduate jobs, internships and placements.
You can find us on the ground floor of the Library, we are open
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
If you want to find out more about different career options, hear from
former Sussex graduates, improve your networking skills and learn
about what employers look for in applicants, dont miss Make it

extension

scheme (Tier 4) update:

Britain programme

Dont send out your CV until


you have checked..

The Doctorate Extension Scheme


(DES) enables completing PhD
students to seek or undertake
employment for up to 12 months
upon completion of their PhD.
You must apply before you officially

complete
your PhD. Start planning
for your DES Tier 4 application 1-2
months before you are due to
submit your thesis, you can email
the International Advisers for
advice. The University will only
issue relevant documentation once
you have had your viva and either
passed unconditionally or
submitted any corrections.

This programme gives


students and recent graduates
the opportunity to work as an
intern in the UK for up to 12
months, swapping from a tier
4, to a tier 5 visa. Find out
