No. Fixing of Lighting Fixture Status Remarks
1 All the following activities are to be checked during
and after fixing of lighting fixtures. Contractor should
be notified by the followings:

a) Contractor should have approved coordinated
workshop DRW/coordinated F/C layout clearing final
location of all activities and spacing between light
F.A.S./EML/CCTV etc.

b) Flowchart for light fitting clearing the following:
b.1) Type of light fitting.
b.2) Location of light fitting.
b.3) IP rating of light fitting.
b.4) Light fitting type of mounting (surface, recess,
wall bracket, floor, hidden, stair steps, hanging
by (threaded rod or hock and chain).

b.5) Way of operation (through lighting switch or
lighting control panel or BMS or moving sensor
etc.).

c) Check all circuits related to service areas/lift
lobbies/main entrance of building/corridors etc. if
operating through lighting control system.

d) Ensure that if there is dimmer system the lighting
fixture should have the same facility.

e) Contractor should have method statement from
supplier for all lighting fixture installation.

f) Check all lighting fixture which arrive to the site as
per the approval (type, color, depth, IP, recess,
surface etc.)

g) Check if there is any lighting point above A/C duct or
FCU.

h) Provide drain pipe for all recess floor fitting in case
the opening (cavity) is closed by concrete without
sand around it.

i) Metal halide circuit should not exceed 6 numbers
and lamp holder should be 3kV 4kV and the size of
wire between holder and igniter should be suitable
to pass 4kV.

j) All fittings under FCU should be protected from
water.

k) Ensure that all wires between lighting point/ceiling
rose and fittings are heat resistance.

l) Down light fixture/60 x 60 recess type
If the distance between light point and false ceiling
more than 60cm, the ceiling rose should not be used
and the wires to be covered by PVC flexible conduit
and directly connected through proper PVC
connector.

m) All service room and parking area light fittings
l.1) Surface mounted light fittings should be installed
as mentioned above.

l.2) Pendent lights should be connected from ceiling
rose to the light fitting by using heat resistance
wire.

I.3) Check lighting fixture IP65.
I.4) Location of all lighting points and lighting
fixtures should be coordinated with all other
services.

n) Landscaping light:
During the material approval and installation at site
proper coordination with Contractor/Supplier to be
done and to check all the required accessories for
each fitting type.

o) Testing procedure:
Contractor has to submit method statement for
testing and commissioning:

o.1) Megger test for all wires before fixing the fitting.
o.2) Operational test often after fixing the fitting.
p) Obstruction light:
p.1) Ensure location of control panel on service DB in
accessible location.

p.2) Workshop DRW (lighting layout for roof and
elevation of building clearing final location
(surface, recess, and dimension) should be
approved by Civil aviation.
