The PTE-100-C Plus can test all
types of single phase relays from
electromechanical to digital relays.
DESCRIPTION
The PTE-100-C Plus is a portable injector specially designed
to test the protective functions of electromechanical, analogue
and digital relays. It features a variac-type variable AC current
output up to 250 A, AC voltage up to 250 V, or DC voltage
up to 350 V. There is also an electronic variable AC voltage
output up to 0-140 V, 40- 70 Hz frequency, and a phase
shifter to 0-359.9.
Another independent, stabilized and electronically protected
DC output can also supply 0 to 250 V for your auxiliary
voltage requirements.
A rich set of built-in measurement functions for internal and
external signals (e.g. AC/DC current, voltage, frequency,
phase angle, impedance and apparent power) and useful
operating controls like time and current limitation make the
PTE-100-C Plus the most powerful, small and easy to use unit
in its market.
You can preset the injection value before you actually apply it
to the connected relay. Also, the unit stores and displays the
maximum injected value in 10 milliseconds, thus allowing the
testing of very fast instantaneous overcurrent elements. Thanks
to the injection lapse time limit function, you can easily verify
the safety threshold of some reclosers.
The PTE-100-C Plus can be connected to your PC through its
standard RS-232 port for calibration (no need to open the
unit), data download and software-automated operation.
Another connector, the PTE-BUS, can be used to integrate
the PTE-100-C Plus with any other component of the PTE
family, dramatically expanding the testing capabilities. You
can, for example, use the PTE-100-C Plus built-in timer
to control the operation of a PTE-100-V or a PTE-300-V or
can synchronize these units signal generators to the
PTE-100-C Plus reference.
OPERATION
The PTE-100-C Plus is engineered
with ease of operation in mind.
You wire the relay, reset the
timer, regulate the variac and
wait for the relay to trip. The
output will stop automatically
and the time and pickup values
will be shown on the corresponding
displays.
You have all what you need: direct visual
control, timing, measurement, and power up
to 1,000VA for the toughest burdens. To better
adapt the output power to the loads characteristics,
we have added an autotransformer with four current
and two voltage taps between the PTE-100-C Plus
and your relay. In this way, you can choose the
optimum current/voltage combination to deliver the
available 1000 VA with the required accuracy. To
better trace those characteristic curves, you can also have
the ammeter display per cent of a given current value, rather
than absolute amperes.
If you have three-phase PTE equipment, combine it with the
PTE-100-C Plus for the higher power-demanding applications,
like some three-phase directional overcurrent relays.
A number of primary applications can also be achieved. For
example, you can test multiple MCBs or measure a current
transformers saturation, or knee point.
MEASUREMENT FUNCTIONS
The following external or internal magnitudes can be measured
with the PTE-100-PLUS:
External AC current up to 10 A between the common power
output tap and the active AC output tap.
Voltmeter: up to 300 V AC or 400 V DC (up to 1000 V
with the PTE-FCH).
Frequency: 20-2000 Hz.
Phase angle between:
- The output current and the voltage drop at the output tap
(the loads impedance angle).
- The output current and the independent voltage output.
- The output current and an external voltage.
- External current and voltage signals.
Impedance ():
- Present at the current output.
- Measured with the 4-wire method.
Apparent Power (VA):
- Across the current circuit.
- As the product of the applied current and voltage
magnitudes.
PTE-100-C Plus is designed for easy
and intuitive operation.

Description: The software FAA-CAL enables to calibrate
and adjust the PTE-100-C PLUS without any addtional
accesory nor opening the equipment. The program is
completely automatic and requires a reference standard.
The software indicates the connection diagram required
for calibrating each parameter and creates a printed
calibration report.

preform Overcurrent Relay Tests: Inverse Time Overcurrent
Relays and Definite Time Overcurrent Relays.
The test is directed by the software, including the current
values required. All the test results and data are stored in
MS Access format A graphic curve editor enables to easily
create standard curves.
PTE-TDC SOFTWARE
TEST DATA CAPTURE SOFTWARE
This software is intended to acquire data from a PTE-
100-C equipment, making easy the task of acquiring an
adequate data format in order to print or transfer results
into a file. The file can be Microsoft Access or a standard
ASCII format. It is possible to store test results and retrieve
to print.
The software is developed in Windows and it is easy to
use. It enables identification of results, by means of a test
header where data can be introduced, such as dates,
locations codes, operator, device under test, etc.
The connection between the PC and the PTE-100-C Plus is
made by a cable supplied with the equipment.
