General Activity Checks:
1 Ensure that flushing is not carried out through machinery or equipment which may be damaged. Ensure isolation with blinds, spades, skillets
have been installed as necessary.

2 Ensure precautions are in place to safely drain the water away whilst flushing is being carried out.
3 Ensure each piping system or sub-system as identified in the Test Pack, is to be cleared of debris by flushing with water or blowing with steam
or air as appropriate to prove that it is clear from end to end.

4 Ensure each piping system or sub-system as identified in the testpack, is to be cleared of debris by flushing with water or blowing with steam
or air as appropriate to prove that it is clear from end to end.

5 Ensure that flushing is carried out using clean fresh water, potable water, treated sea water, air or steam as appropriate.
6 Ensure for system containing Austenitic Stainless Steel (316L) piping and fittings, the chloride ion content of the water shall be less than
50ppm.

7 Check that flushing of interconnecting piping is in the direction of fall and from smaller pipe work in to larger pipe work ensuring no debris is left
trapped in dead legs.

8 Ensure that the flush is to an open end if possible. In the event of a flexible hose / pipe being required to route the test medium away it should
be of, at least, the same diameter or larger.

9 Check that system open to atmosphere which does not required Hydrotest should be Flushed / blow out to prevent corrosion
10 On systems where the flushing medium is water medium flow velocities of 1.5 to 1.8 m/s should be achieved.
11 On systems where flushing medium is air (Oil free and dry) or steam the flow velocity should not be less than 20mtrs / second
