PARTICIPANT INFORMATION SHEET

1. Survey title

ASEAN Business Competitiveness Survey 2014 (ABCs)

2. Who is conducting the survey?

This survey is an initiative by the ASEAN-BAC, to guide ASEAN leaders during their
consultations and dialogue. ASEAN-BAC is grouping 30 ASEANs prominent business
people. ASEAN-BAC was formed in 2003 by the ASEAN Leaders (Heads of State and
Government) to provide private sector feedback on ASEAN economic cooperation.

This year, the survey is supported by Myanmar Marketing Research and Development
(MMRD), a leading research agency based in Yangon, Myanmar.

The three previous surveys have been supported by the Singapore Business Federation in
Singapore.

3. What is the purpose of this survey?

Please read the information below and contact us in case you have further questions before
deciding whether or not to take part.

The survey seeks your participation in expressing your views and directions in developing
your business in ASEAN. At the forthcoming ASEAN Summit in Myanmar, your views and
directions will be made available and presented to the leaders of ASEAN, US, J apan, and
China.

This year, the opinions of businesses based in every ASEAN country will be assessed. This
will constitute the opportunity for ASEANs SMEs and MNCs to share their opinions about
their country on five different topics: financial services, marketing ASEAN consumers,
market potential and business environment.

The survey findings will be submitted by ASEAN-BAC to the ASEAN Leaders at the ASEAN
Summit in November 2011 in Bali, Indonesia, as well as to ASEAN Economic Ministers and
officials.

The ASEAN Business Competitiveness Survey 2014 follows from the success of the 2013
ASEAN-BAC Survey, where survey findings and policy recommendations were reported to
ASEAN Leaders in August 2013 in Brunei Darussalam. The report on Findings from 2013
