METHOD STATEMENT FOR SCREED CONCRETE WORK OF AERATOR ,

FLOCCURATOR &TREATED WATER TANK

1. General
We planned to place Grade 20 concrete for the screed concrete of the Areator, flocculator and
treated water tank structures
Quantity of concrete 36 cum
Concrete work will be commenced at 15.00hr and it is scheduled to finish at19.00hrsame day.
Concrete will be obtained from Bathalayaya Ready mix plant. Distance from the Batching plant to the
site is 14km

2.Method of construction
Setting out for the AFS structure
Dumping of top soil in a suitable place
Excavation up to foundation level by considering hydraulic profile of Treatment Plant.
Storing of excavated soil suitable for compaction, separately
Dumping of soil unsuitable for back filling outside the TP area
Compaction of the areas where the soil is loose due to the removal of roots etc. using a
compactor to obtain 98% compaction ,
Compaction of foundation area by using 2 Ton vibration roller or 1Ton vibration rollerto
achieve 98% compaction

3.Levels
Top levels of Screed concrete is established on the perimeter of structure by 02M intervals

4.Formwork
Along the perimeter of base 75mm Height plywood strips are fixed to keep concrete edges straight.

5.Placing of concrete
A shooter is used to avoid segregation of concrete and it is carried from place to place to get
concrete easily.

6.Methord of concreting
Before starting of concrete placing ,a high gauge polythene is laid on prepared base floor and fixed
2 M wide concrete strips are lead and compacted by using a timber tamper and two skilled labors care
will be taken to keep top surface of concrete smooth and leveled .this procedure is repeated to finish
the concrete .the joint of the concrete shall be refreshing within 45 min. care will be taken to cure the
new concrete continuously.

12.Curing of concrete
After the concrete we cover with gunny bags and watering of 7 days
