As a wor kar ound, we r ecommend t hat you manual l y set t he execut e per mi ssi ons f or al l f i l es. To do so,

chmod - R 755 .



I I . St op SAP syst emand dat abase

I f you want t o i nst al l a new copy, you can def er st oppi ng t he i nst ances unt i l you must execut e t he
command db2i updt . For mor e i nf or mat i on, see sect i on I I I . - " Updat e usi ng a new i nst al l at i on" .

A si ngl e DB2 copy can dr i ve many DB2 i nst ances. Ther ef or e, you must st op al l SAP syst ems and DB2
i nst ances t hat ar e af f ect ed bef or e you updat e a DB2 copy. To di spl ay a l i st of al l DB2 i nst ances
t hat bel ong t o a DB2 copy, execut e t he command " db2i l i st " as user db2<dbsi d>.

You can def er st oppi ng your SAP Syst emunt i l you have swi t ched your exi st i ng DB2 i nst ance t o t he new
DB2 sof t war e copy, i f you i nst al l a new copy of t he DB2 sof t war e.
1. Shut down SAP syst emand t he SAP dat abase i nst ance as f ol l ows:
a) As user " <sapsi d>adm" , ent er t he f ol l owi ng command:
st opsap
b) St op t he SAP OS Col l ect or wi t h t he f ol l owi ng command:
saposcol - k
2. St op t he admi n i nst ance ( i f i t exi st s) . As a DAS user , ent er t he f ol l owi ng command:

You can i mpor t a f i x pack by i nst al l i ng a new DB2 copy or by updat i ng t he i nst al l ed sof t war e. Bot h
ar e per mi t t ed f or al l SAP r el eases.

Updat e usi ng a new i nst al l at i on:
I nst al l t he new sof t war e copy usi ng db2set up or db2_i nst al l as user " r oot " . We r ecommend t hat you
i nst al l t he copy i n a subdi r ect or y of t he home di r ect or y db2<dbsi d> usi ng " db2set up" , f or exampl e,
~db2<besi d>/ db2_v9_f p1.
Not e: I n t he case of Fi x Pack 4, " DB2 Advanced Ent er pr i se Ser ver Edi t i on"
( AESE) i s i n t he f i r st pl ace. I n t hi s case, al ways choose " DB2 Ent er pr i se Ser ver
Edi t i on" ( ESE) .

Then execut e pr ogr am" db2i updt " t o swi t ch your exi st i ng DB2 i nst ance f r omt he cur r ent sof t war e copy
t o t he new DB2 sof t war e copy. I f you have not yet st opped your SAP syst emand DB2 i nst ances, you
must do so bef or e execut i ng " db2i updt " .

Caut i on:
The new copy does not have a DB2 l i cense. Ther ef or e, you must r ei nst al l t he DB2 l i cense as user

4. Downl oad t he at t achment db6_updat e_cl i ent . SAR t o t he subdi r ect or y <t emp>/ CLI ENT, and unpack
i t t her e usi ng t he pr ogr amSAPCAR.
5. Go t o t he subdi r ect or y <t emp>/ CLI ENT.
6. St ar t t he scr i pt " db6_updat e_cl i ent . sh" f r omt hi s di r ect or y usi ng t he f ol l owi ng command:
