Brief Introduction
The client wanted a school that would be a natural extention of
the home.
Since the school is built in key stages, each stage had to
reflect the philsosophy and the requirement of the age group
inhabiting the building.
This building was to house kindergarten and preschool since
the student age group was from 2 and a half to 7, and it was
their first outing into the big world, the school had to be
inviting and non threatening.

School Entrance
The school has 2 entry points - and is surrounded by teak
trees which form a natural canopy.
They have utilised locally available fired teracotta bricks as
the main construction material & the exposed brick work keeps
the school cool in the summer.

Bathroom
Toilets with durable finishes with
coloured mosaic detailing provide an
attractive and easy to maintain
space. The wc's are designed to the
children's height.

Library
The library is the focal point of the
school. It has flexible seating and books
that the kids can access themselves. It
has a TV and DVD/VCD for movies and
educational programmes.

Typical Class
Ground floor houses the littlest
children and hence have backyards
with lead out from their classes. The
chairs are arranged in clusters for the
teacher to interact better with the

The first floor glass facade allows natural light
and heightens the view of the exterior. The mosaic
patterns on the polished floor, the double height
and the colourful walls all add to the attractive
look of the interior finishing.
