The following are the limitations of our fabrication shop and shipping. These are to be
applied in design and detailing.
A. Built-up Members
a. One flange of all built-up members should be straight.
b. Web splice (butt welded) should be perpendicular to the straight flange.
c. Flange width of one member should not vary along the length of the
member.

2. Length of Metal Downspouts
Maximum length of metal downspouts will be limited to 9000 mm. This supersedes the
value specified in item 1 of Engineering Bulletin Vol. 2 No. 10 issued on 25-Oct-09.
The new limitation is established because of difficulties in handling longer downspouts.
3. Downspout Elbows
Because of the changes in shop limitation regarding the minimum straight portion of
downspout elbows, standard drawings S-SH01 and S-SH02 are revised as follows.
