weightisdroppedonthecenterofasimplebeam,thevalueofthatstiffness(7.5e5N/m)wascopied
fromtheoutputcolumn,ofk_mid,andpastedintotheinputcolumnofk.Then,thenextsolvegivesthe

about5.5.Hadtheweightbeenheldatthebeamsurfacewithouttoughingit(h=0)andthenreleased
thatcalculationgivestheimpactfactorequaltotwo.
Hadtheweightbeendroppedontheendofacantileverbeamofthesamesize(k=46.9e3N/m)the
inputofthatstiffnessvaluegivesanimpactfactorofabout36.
