Geography of tourism

Good afternoon, the topic I would like to present you today is Geography of tourism.
Tourism has become one of the most profitable business branches nowdays. Mostly because
different parts of the world offer different attractions for the tourists. As we travel we come across
dozens of new people, things, places, etc.
Tourism means travelling anywhere. To places people find interesting for themselves.
For example some like active moving, others prefer to stay in nature for recreation. There are many
types of tourism, like cyclotourism, agrotourism, mountaineering, capming in nature, but also getting
to know new towns or cities, countries, continents anything.

Why, where, how, when people travel?

Why - Traveling belongs to the most popular activities in the world. High number of people travel to
take rest, learn other culture, to make new friendships with people they have never met before, to
learn new languages. On the other hand there are many people who travel because of their work, so
they want to find a better job or a better life abroad. Or, for example, managers travel, because they
want to find new investors , new partners for business.

When In general, people travel throughout the whole year. But, the most popular is winter and
summertime. Summertime is typical for longer holidays for students so families spend it for visiting
countries which are near the sea. Typically: Jun July August September .
Wintertime is good for holidays in mountains, where people usually practice skiing,
snowboarding and other winter sports. December January February.

How it depends on destinations. If journey isnt long, people usually use their cars for transport,
which is more comfortable. Buses are also used very often. For long distances we can use a plane. It
is faster than travelling by car, but it is much more expensive.
