Summary Professional Experience

May 2013- May 2014 (1 year) LUMC AMC VUMC
Type of experience: Thesis
Recently, I have conducted a research for CAHAL. CAHAL is a corporation where heart
surgeons and cardiologists from LUMC, AMC and VUMC work together in order to get the
best medical treatment for their patients.
I have measured the patients trust towards the corporation and their expertise. The
instrument designed for this study showed in what degree the requirements improving the
readability of a text increases and evokes the patients trust.
Furthermore, I have written a policy based advice for CAHAL. This advice explains how a
digital communication cycle could continuously improve the content plan of the website
bearing in mind the expectations of the company image.

January 2012- Augustus 2012 (8 months) Municipal of Wassenaar
Type of experience: Internship and executed projects
The municipal of Wassenaar gave me a great amount of assignments which gave me the
opportunity to develop my skills as a communication professional. Besides my daily duties as
a communication co-worker, I have developed and executed diverse communication projects
for the municipal.
Project: Queens Day 2012 Project management Marketing communications
During this project I had to run meetings with different departments within the municipal.
This was necessary because of the logistics and several agreements that had to be made.
Besides the logistics I had to write a marketing campaign which I had to execute with the
Wassenaarse Oranjevereniging and a Graphic bureau.
Project: Reorganization Municipals Photoshop Interviews Editing
Before the process started of merging both municipals Voorschoten and Wassenaar to one
organization, I have helped develop a special edition magazine concerning the mergence. My
part in this project contained editing and designing the magazine with Photoshop. I have also
done two interviews, one with both mayors and one with both municipal secretaries (in Dutch:
gemeentesecretaris).


Project: Social Media Creating a Social Media platform
I was given the permission to start up a social media platform with YouTube and Twitter.
Both have been given a specific communication purpose. The YouTube-account has been
given the purpose to inform the citizen on different subjects as press conferences, events and
municipal changes. The Twitter-account has been given the purpose to inform the citizen with
weekly news items.
Project: Training iPad Manual descriptions Coaching
When my internship was about to come to an end, the municipal decided to start using
iPads during meetings to save up paper. I proposed to prolong my internship with one last
project: To develop and give a course about the practical usage of the iPad and of an
application especially developed to access a database of documents. This proposition was
accepted. After writing an effective manual, the mayor, the aldermen and their secretaries
received a successful course.

March 2010 - April 2010 (1 month) Ministry of Defence, The Hague
Type of experience: Qualitative Research
As an assignment for the course Internal Communications, I had to analyze the internal
communication streams within the different levels of management of an organization. I
conducted this analysis for the department Juridische dienstverlening (Legal services) of the
Ministry of Defence. Furthermore, several co-workers were interviewed and questioned about
their satisfaction with the usability and efficiency of the communication tools used by their
department to communicate internally.

As a real estate secretary I had several organizational responsibilities. For instance, I have
managed three agendas; I have documented different kind of paperwork; I have kept

Professional specialization

2013, Module: Coaching students, Faculty of European Studies.
I have coached two first-year students to get through the loose ends of their course. The
competences were focused to learn how to: set realistic goals for the students; listen actively;
give advice and evaluate situations and attitudes.

2013, Minor: Cross Medial Communications, Faculty of European Studies.
During this minor I have been asked to write a cross medial communication plan and conduct
this plan for an organization. This minor has taught me to use Cross medial communication as
an effective tool to create an engaging experience for the target-group. The importance is to
trigger the target-group to walk through the different communication tools in a chronological
order until the message reaches de main purpose.

2011, Minor: Marketing Communications, Faculty of Commercial Economics.
During this minor I have worked to launch two new products for the Ola ice-cream Magnum
based on a multiple sided marketing plan. As a group of four students, we had created a cross
medial concept for this casus, which was parted in two marketing communication mixes.
These mixes (communication tools) where launched all at the same time. We created a press-
release creating awareness for the lounge of two new flavors of Magnum that would take
place at a Dutch household market. Fans of Magnum, registered with their e-mail, would get a
direct mail regarding the launch of these two new flavors and the new experience website.

2011, Minor: Working 2.0, Faculty of ICT & Media.
This minor has taught me about different behavioral management approaches in order to
reevaluate patterns and habits concerning working schedules, the usage of working space and
the effect on responsibility of co-workers.
