In the case of candidates having test exemption the admission will be on the

basis of (a) the marks of the qualifying degree (b) the interview c) letter of
consent showing vacancy position of the supervising teacher d) Letter of
agreement of the head of the research centre.
4. REGISTRATION FEE

5. Registration for Research
2ll candidates admitted to the h.!. programme of the +niversity will be
initially granted provisional registration as full time research scholars.
"egular and permanent teachers of the *overnment &2ided colleges of the
0tate and )ahatma *andhi +niversity teaching departments3 will be granted
provisional part time registration initially3 if they so desire.
,andidates admitted to h.!. programme shall 4oin the research centre
immediately and their date of registration shall be deemed to be the date of
4oining the next coursework succeeding registration ie. from 5
st
.anuary of
every year. 6owever in the case of ."- candidates the date of registration is
the date of the order itself.
6. Course work
0tudents admitted to h.!. programme are required to undertake course
work comprising 7 apers (,ourse a3 ,ourse b and ,ourse c) for a period of
one semester.
The permanent teachers of the *overnment&2ided colleges of the 0tate and
teachers of )ahatma *andhi +niversity departments can pursue course work
programme in two spells of three months each (2pril3 )ay3 and .une of every
year). The course work shall not however exceed the first two years.
2ll the candidates are required to qualify the course work examination at the
end of the course work programme for the confirmation of the provisional
registration.

"esearch shall be carried out by a "esearch scholar in a +niversity
department&Inter +niversity& Inter' school centres&"esearch ,entre in an
affiliated college&an institution recognised as a "esearch ,entre.
The application should also be accompanied by three copies of the "esearch

The number of pages of the research proposal shall not exceed five . The
supervising teacher should sign on the first and last page of the research
proposal.
