I [Bonnie] was thinking about my Mom and the
widow who put small, small coins in the temple
offering box [Mark 12:41-44; Luke 21:1-4]. I had
observed Gods work in Moms life all through my
lifetime. I realized that I was observing the fruit of
her life-long walk with the Holy Spirit. Paul listed
this fruit in Galatians 5:22-23: The fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. I started writing:

Everyday Fruitfulness

She didnt command an army
but a flock followed her
because she loved them.
She didnt inherit a fortune
but she enjoyed life thoroughly
with childlike joy.
She didnt strive for outer glamour
but developed inner beauty
reflecting peace and contentment.
She didnt have a life of ease
but cared for her disabled husband
developing remarkable patience.
She wasnt famous
but all who met her
were touched by her kindness.
She didnt strive for greatness
but at her death
people remarked about her goodness.
She wasnt in a position of authority
except over us, her daughters,
but we trusted her faithfulness.
She didnt command attention
but she served and advised us
with a steadfast but gentle spirit.
She wasnt an intellectual
but she sat at Jesus feet
learning wisdom and self-control.
She didnt waste away as she aged
but remained fruitful throughout
a long life, lived as the daughter of the King!
