A Guide to Your Results
Credit Levels* Attempts
Level 3 Access Higher education access level 1 Indicates a First Attempt
Level 4 Certificate Equivalent to first year full time undergraduate standard 2 Indicates a Second Attempt
Level 5 Diploma Equivalent to second year full time undergraduate standard 3 Indicates a Third Attempt (after retake)
Level 6 Degree Equivalent to third year full time undergraduate standard 4 Indicates a Fourth Attempt (after retake resit)
Level 7 Masters Equivalent to postgraduate taught standard, assuming Honours
degree competencies

*The Level indicators have been changed to correspond with the National Qualifications Framework, effective from the 2012/13 academic year, from Levels 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4
to Levels 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively. This denotes a change in terminology only and does not represent an adjustment in academic level. EDS Transcripts issued from
January 2013 will use the new Level indicators for all modules.

Aegrotat means that the Awards Board has conferred an unclassified award because it believes there is evidence that you would have achieved the appropriate level of
knowledge, understanding and skills had it not been for illness or other valid cause. You have the right to refuse an aegrotat award. We shall proceed on the basis that you
will accept the aegrotat award unless you write to your Director of Studies to say that you wish to be assessed.

A module comprises one or more assessment elements, each of which has a qualifying mark and each result usually contributes to the
overall module mark. Students who have not achieved the qualifying mark in each assessment element are deemed to have failed the
module and are referred for re-assessment in the failed element(s), even if the aggregate mark for the module is 40% or higher.

Edexcel grades are shown on your final transcript but will appear as undergraduate grades on your evision record.
