I. WHAT IS HERO'S SET EQUIPMENT?
=================================
It's a set of "special" equipment for your mercenaries (yes, only for
mercenaries, not for special characters like Fazz, Elena, Romleth etc). If
you're a perfectionist, or if you want to get everything in the game, you
probably won't want to miss this too. Hero's Set Equipment consists of
HERO'S WING (Weapon / Boomerang), HERO'S SUIT (Armor / Robe) and HERO'S SOUL
(Accessory). Each item has poor stats, so it's useless if you equip just one
or two of them. Here are the stats of Hero's Set Equipment:

The stats are poor, aren't they? But, if you equip the full set, your
character will "change". Also, the stats change will be totally different
from what is stated above. However, as I said before, Hero's Set Equipment
is only for mercenaries. If you equip them to special character (example:
Fazz), nothing will change, and you will only get very poor stats. Section
III of this FAQ will explain all the changes / effects of equipping the
Hero's Set Equipment to your mercenaries. But, before that, I'll explain
how to get them first at Section II.

II. HOW TO GET HERO'S SET EQUIPMENT
====================================
Here's the step-by-step procedure on how to get Hero's Set Equipment:
1) Have Tower of Vugtis appear at the world map.
Well, I won't explain how to make Tower of Vugtis appear at world map.
You can take a look at Boko's FAQ at GameFAQs. It's already explained
there.
2) Climb / keep playing until you reach Floor 35. There's an enemy that has
the HERO'S WING. You can do an attack session to get it. You can use
Vugtis' Arm Break 25% and Acc Break 25% to make sure that you'll get the
HERO'S WING.
3) Continue climbing / playing until you reach Floor 65. There's an enemy
that has the HERO'S SUIT. You can do an attack session to get it. You
can use Vugtis' Weapon Break 25% and Acc Break 25% to make sure that
you'll get it.
4) Now, get out from the tower. You may save your game first. After that,
re-enter the Tower of Vugtis Floor 65. On your second time visiting
Floor 65, you will meet an enemy called "Heddrich". He has the Hero's
Set Equipment (HERO'S WING, HERO'S SUIT and HERO'S SOUL). Here are his
stats (may vary a bit each time you visit Floor 65):

-----------------------------------------------------He has high level and high stats due to Hero's Set Equipment effect, so
your characters should be at level 80 or above. I recommend that you
should be at level 90+ to make the battle easier.
Actually you can get all the 3 Hero's Set Items from Heddrich, but since
his stats are high, I recommend you to get the HERO'S WING and HERO'S
SUIT at Floor 35 and 65 (the first time).
The Hero's Set Equipment has "Guard" effect if equipped (Weapon Guard,
Armor Guard and Accessory Guard), so this time you can't use Vugtis'
Break ability. Just perform an attack session and pray that you will get
the HERO'S SOUL. You may need to battle him several times to get the
HERO'S SOUL if you're unlucky. Also, try hitting him from back. Why?
Because he has very high evade, so it's hard to hit him from the front
or side. Equip Physical Hit + 20% or Physical Hit + 30% ability if any.
CONGRATULATIONS! You've got all 3 items of Hero's Set Equipment.
Now you can equip them to your mercenary. After equipping all of them, a
message will appear: "Proceed to unleash the power of the Hero's Set?"
Choose Yes, now your mercenary will "change". Now I'll explain the effect /
the "changes".
NOTE: Sometimes, there's a problem: the mercenary won't "change" after you
equip all the 3 items (the message "Proceed to unleash the power of
the Hero's Set?" won't appear). In that case, just un-equip the 3
items, and then equip them again. That should solve the problem.

III. THE EFFECTS OF HERO'S SET EQUIPMENT
=========================================
-------------------A. Appearance Change
-------------------Your mercenary's looks will change into a "rocky" hero dressed in white.
-------------B. Stats Boost
-------------Stats boost depends on the character's deity and level. You can see the
stats boost below. I used these mercenaries: Elera (LV 99, in all deities),
Chester (LV 60, AMU), and Kirk (LV 30, AMU) as example.
(NOTE: your character's stats may be different, I just used mine as example;
the same goes to the stats boost, it may vary a bit from what I stated
below)
B.1. How Deity Affects the Stats Boost

Equipment. I used Elera, my level 99 mercenary in all different deities as

B.2. How Level Affects the Stats Boost
-------------------------------------Different Levels also give different stats boost when you equip the Hero's
Set Equipment. I used these mercenaries: Elera (LV 99, Amu), Chester (LV 60,

-----------------C. Special Effects
-----------------Equipping Hero's Set Equipment also gives you certain "Special Effects":
1) Exp + 50%, Dev + 50% and Charm 25%
This is obvious, since it's stated at each of Hero's Set Item
description.
2) Weapon Guard, Armor Guard and Accessory Guard.
I guess you will notice this when you fight Heddrich at Tower of Vugtis
Floor 65 (on the second visit) to get the HERO'S SOUL. You'll notice that
you can't break his HERO'S WING and HERO'S SUIT, and therefore you'll
just depend on your "luck" to get the HERO'S SOUL :)
3) Attack Cost will be greatly reduced. Attack Cost = 16, so you can attack
6 times in a turn without moving.
4) Hit and Evade rate will increase as your HP goes down. This is just like
equipping Life and Death ability, with an exception that the attack
power won't increase.

IV. MISCELLANEOUS
==================
1) HERO'S WING, HERO'S SUIT and HERO'S SOUL can be sold for 500,000 G each!
Great way to be "rich" in Hoshigami, but I guess it's not necessary,
because you'll already have lots of money by the time you get Hero's Set
Equipment.
2) Once you equip the Hero's Set Equipment, your character will change
PERMANENTLY. It means that he / she can't change back to his / her
original form before equipping Hero's Set Equipment. He / she can't also
change weapon, armor nor accessory anymore. The Hero's Set will
permanently be his / her equipment.
3) There is also another set of equipment: Lucky Set Equipment, but I won't
explain any of it since it's already explained in Boko's FAQ at
GameFAQs. Just take a look at it if you want to know all about it.
