This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 5858:1999 Aerospace Nuts, self-locking, with maximum
operating temperature less than or equal to 425 C Procurement specification issued by the International
Organization
for Standardization
(ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the
recommendation
of the Aircraft, Space Vehicles and Aircraft Electrical Equipment Sectional Committee
and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.
The text of International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as Indian Standard
without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards.
Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

This International Standard specifies the required characteristics for metric self-locking nuts, with MJ threads, for
use in aerospace construction at a maximum temperature less than or equal to 425 C.
It is applicable to nuts as defined
