Project Revision
Reworking one of my older projects has been a very interesting experience as it gives me
an opportunity to look at my work that was performed while back. In this assignment, I
would like to revise Informal interview with the Financial Analyst project, which was
done in BA 3100 class at the UTD. When I learned about this assignment and the
possibility of including a project in the Professional Online Portfolio (POP), Informal
interview with the Financial Analyst project came as a very first one in my mind. This
project has performed a crucial role in my life as it helped me to choose my career path.
Not only that, this project had also helped me to improve my communication skills. I am
pretty sure that the inclusion of this project will develope my portfolio, so that it can
attract prospective employers in Accounting and Finance professions to visit my profile.
While revising the assignment, I performed multiple of modifications to improve the
contents and maintain the privacy. Here is the list of modifications:
- I changed the company name and the Financial Analyst personal name for their
privacy, considering this will be the assignment to be included on the Portfolio.
- I realized that the earlier title Informal Interview Reflection wasnt communicating
well about the contents, so I decided to modify it to Informal Interview with
Financial Analyst to pass a clear idea of this project.
- After a thorough revision of this project, I found quite a few grammatical errors. I
modified the project by fixing them, which should improve the readability.
- Going through my old notes, I realized that there were few roles of Rebeccas
position which she decribed during our conversation but I didnt mention in original
version of document. I have added those information to this version of document to
understand her roles better.
- I realized that the earlier version of this project was showing my future interest in
persuing career in a very specific - Financial Analyst position. Thinking more on
that, I realized that it is very important to keep more generic options open so that my
profile can be available to the broader range of employers. I decided to modify some
of the contents and the conclusion to reflect my current interest of getting job in
Accounting or Financial Analyst positions.
Here is the introduction of this revised project that I am targetting to put on POP:
How interesting it sounds to contact a stranger professional and conduct an interview
session with him/her. In this project, I would like to provide a brief about my encounter
with Rebecca a Financial Analyst working at Xcom. The goal of this project was to
meet professional employee, conduct an informal interview and learn from the
experience. In the process of this interview, I ended up learning many new things from
Rebecca and able to define my career path dealing with Accounting and Finance relate
postitions. Learning about the Financial Analyst position and key responsibilities from
Rebecca will remain one of the most important projects I ever worked on. Note: I have
modified the company name and the employee name for maintaining their privacy.
