3.The ID string generator will generate an ID string with the same details as the old
defective unit duplicate (same mobile type, ISN and S/N).
4.The ID string generated is unique for the new unit, and can not be downloaded into
another unit. The PCB number MUST match what you entered please see below for
details regarding the PSB number:
Before you can generate the ID string needed you should check the PCB number in the
new unit you want to program. You can check the PCB number from the Transceiver
Status Screen, by the command st -w (remember the whole PCB No. 16 characters E000020518-0374).

Software:
Please make sure the unit is updated to the correct software version (depending on the
type of mini-C and local approvals etc) before the system is re-installed on the vessel.
Label:
The other attachment in the E-mail (the lbl. file) is the label file. When you double click
at this file you will print two labels out. Please put one of the labels on the unit as below,
and please make sure the label you put on is correct with the same S/N as you can see
in transceiver status screen or by the command st i:

The second label is for back-up purposes, but you can always print two extra labels, if
you double click at lbl. file again.

but the link will also be in the mail together with the ID string.

After having made a duplicate of the defective unit, you must send the faulty unit back to
Thrane & Thrane A/S for Service. The faulty unit must be received at Thrane &
Thrane A/S within 30 days from when the ID String for duplication was requested.
If the unit is not received within this period you will not be able to make ID strings again!
Prior to receiving the email including id string and label file, the S/N & ISN of the
defective unit has been validated in a database, which will approve the making of a
duplicate before going on the service job.
If it turns out that you can fix the problem without replacing the 3026x, you must ask for
a reset ID string, ASAP when you are back at the office. You should just reply the Email with the ID string, and ask for a reset string. The reset ID string will change the S/N
& ISN to 1, but the unit will keeps the same mobile type.
When you have downloaded the reset ID string, please send us a status screen, using
the same email (ticket) in order for Thrane & Thrane A/S to verify that the PCB number
is downloaded with S/N 1. We will then delete the first entry created in our data base,
hence, no need to send the units back to Thrane & Thrane A/S for service.
