Marking Scheme with Model Question-2065
The sum of the digits of two digits number is 7. If 27 is subtracted from
the number, the digits in the number are reversed. Find the number.
Solution:
Let the two digits number be 10x +y, where x and y are its digits in ten place and
unit place respectively
1st condition
x+y=7
i.e x=7-y.. (i)1
2nd condition
10x+y-27=10y+x
or 9x=9y+27
or x=y+3(ii)1
Equating (i) and (ii)
7-y=y+3
or 2y=4
or y=2
Putting the value of y in (i)
x=7-2
=51
Required two digit number 10x+y=52.1
