Announcing the New 992K Wheel Loader

Marketing Strategy
The 992K payload has been adjusted to 19.1 tonnes (21 ton) from the 992Gs 21.8
tonnes (24 ton) payload in order to achieve a 40,000 hour structural life rating. The
production impact realized from the adjusted payload will vary depending on truck
match, bucket fill factors, bucket size, material density and production demands. The
992K is designed for a 5-Pass match to the 777 and a 3-4 Pass match to the 775. The
992K will offer 14 16 CYD buckets and will be available in a Standard Arrangement
only (no HL arrangement available). In addition, the 992K is equipped with the new
Cat C32 engine, which is Tier 2/Stage II emissions compliant. The new 992K offers
excellent productivity, improved safety, and enhanced operator comfort.

Ordering Guide
Serial Number Prefix The new serial number prefix for the 992K is H4C.
Production - The source of the 992K is Aurora, Illinois. Initial production of the 992K is
expected to begin in February 2008. Shipments are slated for February 2008, upon
successful completion of all necessary quality assurance testing.
Availability The 992K will be distributed under Limited Distribution guidelines
requiring a copy of the customer order to be provided to Demand Planner, Jean Hurt, at
Fax # 309/494-1358.
Pricing The 992K trade discount level will be provided in the ALL DLR Email with the
announcement of this Bulletin. The 992K base machine price will be (-4%) vs. 2008
992G base machine pricing. Note: Freight and assembly should be consistent with current
production 992G.

Product Support Materials and Training - Service Manual, Parts Book, Operation and
Maintenance Manual will be available at first production (Feb. 2008). Please refer to the
NPI Kit for more details.
Parts availability - At shipment, Caterpillar will have a 30-day supply of 95% of the
serviceable part numbers, and at least one of each serviceable part number will be in
the parts system.
Warranty The standard Caterpillar warranty applies; 6 months, unlimited hours.
