: Method Statement for Araldite heavy duty epoxy floor system


at your project.

Dear Sir,
This has reference to the discussion we had regarding requirement of chemical resistance
epoxy flooring System for your prestigious project .we are pleased to submit our technocommercial offer along with detailed method statement of application.
System Proposed 1mm self-smoothing heavy duty, high chemical and abrasion
resistant epoxy floor topping of make Huntsman International India Pvt Ltd.

1.0 Floor Rh recording

Moisture readings will be taken by using Digital Moisture Meter.


Clean the surface
Make settings in the instrument according to
requirements like surface type, required
thickness etc.
Observe and record the readings.

2.0 Surface Preparation

Failure to prepare is to prepare to failure


a)Proper surface preparation is the critical for proper adhesion of floor topping to concrete
substrate. Concrete substrate should be free from laitance, oil, grease and smooth glossy
surface finish. Mechanical grinding method shall be done to remove dust and other loose
particles adhered to the concrete surface.
b)Advanced surface preparation method for
screeding is scarifying the concrete floors and other
flat surfaces prior to the application of floor topping.
Scarifying provides a mechanical key in between
concrete floor and further epoxy topping.
c) All cracks and joints in the flooring are cut with
proper cutting tools and the grooves so formed is
filled with crack filling low viscosity epoxy material.

3.0 Priming
All surface of the concrete substrate should be primed with
Araldite GY 257/ Aradur 140 designed for maximum
absorption and adhesion to concrete substrate . Add the
entire contents of the hardener tin to the base tin and mix
the two primer components thoroughly for at least two
minutes. Once mixed, primer should be applied immediately
to the prepared substrate using stiff brush or roller. Primer
has to interact with surface to ensure adhesion with
substrate.Primer has close all pores to avoid blistering The
primer shall be allowed to become tack free for 8-10 hours.

5.0 Application of Self smoothing epoxy topping

It is a self smoothing epoxy floor topping at 2 mm. Its provide a dense, impervious, coloured
and excellent chemically resistant floor surface. It is fast application and having good abrasion
resistance, attractive, hygienic, high compressive strength. Araldite three component excellent
chemical resistance coating consists of Araldite GY 257 /Aradur 2963. graded aggregates
bound in a pigmented epoxy resin binder. It is supplied as a three component system, weighed
for on-site mixing. When laid, it provides a smooth, light-reflective surface It is available in a
range of standard

Precautions to be taken for the protection and durability of Flooring:


1.
Light foot traffic can ply only after 24 hours of finishing the Epoxy Flooring treatment.
2.
However it can be subjected to regular traffic only after 7 days of finishing the treatment,
by which time it will have fully cured.
3.
Heavy objects or objects with protrusions shall not be placed or dragged on the floor
treated surface. It is recommended that heavy steel bins and other metal objects should
not be placed directly on the epoxy floor. They should be placed on rubber or wooden
supports.
4.
All trolleys moving on the floor shall have polyurethane wheels, which will not damage
the Flooring treatment. Trolleys with MS or CI wheels shall not be used.
