1. Rising importance of ERP on Cloud


Traditional on-premises applications have become so costly and difficult that most customers
defer long implementation time involved. Customization to meet the business needs further

Organizations nowadays are adopting cloud based solutions to improve certain processes.

is greater use of phone or PDA for work compared to traditional computers. Hence nowadays
emphasis is more on enabling mobility in ERP solutions such that employees have real-time
access to information, regardless of where they are. It is predicted that in coming times,
mobile ERP will not just be for reports and dashboards, but for conducting key business
processes.
As cloud-based ERP has emerged, the traditional powerhouses such as Oracle, SAP and
Microsoft have had to work overtime to cloud-enable their offerings -- with mixed success.
This proves both as potential threat as well as a source of excellent opportunity that can be
capitalized to develop mobile based ERP solutions.
3. Two-tier ERP
Once the Enterprises aimed at build an all-encompassing ERP system to take care of every
aspect of organizational systems. But due to some expensive failures two tiers of ERP adopted

This could involve, for example, using Oracle or SAP as the primary system with other systems
used for tier two. The second tier is often used as a platform for the latest features, such as

Organizations have become more dependent on IT and, as a result, they have accumulated a
wealth of data that has been traditionally underutilized. By employing analytical tools,
organizations have begun to use this data to make accurately. Companies are focusing on
making better predictions by using ERP software with specialized business intelligence. This
helps in better decision making with deeper intelligence and insights.
5. Need for specialized ERP services and Better Integration architecture
Enterprises earlier preferred generalized ERP system. However specialized ERP software is
being favored by organization nowadays. Due to the increase in specialized ERP software, the
focus of the ERP consultants has shifted more towards providing better integration
architecture for competent ERP solutions.
