Thank you for your interest in GISMA Business School.


We look forward to welcoming you on to one of our Postgraduate Programmes. Please read
through the following information carefully. If you have any further queries regarding the application
process, feel free to contact your programme advisor in person or over the phone.
Instructions for Applicants
STEP 1: Complete the application form.
STEP 2: Enclose the following supporting documents as a part of your application form:

An English language copy of your CV/rsum (not more than 2 sides of A4)
Copies of all your degrees and professional qualifications: certificates and transcripts (with
certified translation when required)
Proof of English proficiency, when required; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 88
internet-based test, 570 paper-based test or; IELTS score of 6.5 (academic test)
Two reference letters (academic/professional). Please ensure that reference letters are on
letterhead paper, stamped and dated (not older than 6 months)
A copy of your passport and all previous German/EU visas (when applicable), and a recent
passport-sized colour photograph (jpeg, 150*150 pixels)
Applicants are either required to take a GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) and
obtain a score of 600, or take the Pre-MBA Test combined with leveling courses. Please
provide proof of your score with your application.

STEP 3: Please send a completed copy of your application to your programme advisor. Note that
you have the option of either sending it by email to: info@gisma.com or through the post. In either
case, you are required to attach copies of the relevant documents listed in this application.
Students applying through the post must complete the application form in BLOCK CAPITALS, using

SECTION 3: TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General
All students enrolling with GISMA (the School) are expected to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms and
Conditions below.
The Terms and Conditions below set out the terms and conditions between you (the Student) and The School. Please
ask for help in your own language, if you need it.
Only sign this application form if you fully understand and accept its contents, including these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not understand this application form, you must get the contents translated into your first language.
Deposits
When booking a place on the course, students must pay 2,000 (the Deposit).
All Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless the cancellation is made in writing within 14 days of the
booking (please refer to Section 4 below in relation to cancellation).

Payment
All fees are exclusive of VAT in accordance with 4, No. 16, UStG and are payable in Euros ().
INTERNATIONAL MBA/FAST TRACK MBA: Please note that once the Deposit has been paid, the remaining tuition fees
must be paid in two (2) equal instalments, to be paid every six months. Each Student will need to enter into an
individual payment plan.
3.3 PART-TIME MBA: Please note that once the Deposit has been paid, the remaining tuition fees must be paid in four (4)
instalments. Each Student will need to enter into an individual payment plan.
3.4 Students will receive a confirmation of enrolment letter when their Deposit is received.
3.5 When paying by bank transfer, students must allow up to 10 working days for payment to reach the School.
3.6 Students are liable for all bank charges and will be billed for any such charges on their first day if necessary.
3.7 The School does not accept payment of fees by cheque.
3.8 OVERDUE ACCOUNTS: Students must pay their fees on time. The School reserves the right to charge interest at 5% above
the base rate of the Central Bank of Germany (Deutsche Bundesbank) on overdue amounts, accruing daily from the
date that the payment first fell due.
3.9 Once a Student is unconditionally enrolled, any amendments that are required to be made to course offer letters or
enrolment letters less than 7 days before the start of the course will be subject to an amendment fee of 30 (the
Amendment Fee).
3.10 Except for course upgrades or extensions, requests for changes after the course has begun are subject to the
Amendment Fee. Changes must comply with the students conditions of stay as expressed in their VISA (where
applicable).

Distance Selling Regulations


Please note that Students can cancel their course within 14 days without indicating reasons in text form (e.g. letter, fax,
e-mail). The deadline takes effect on receipt of this notice in text form but not before the contract is concluded nor
before the School has fulfilled their obligations to provide information as defined in Article 246 2 in conjunction with 1
(1) and (2) of the Introductory Statue to the Civil Code (EGBGB) as well as the Schools obligations pursuant to 312e
paragraph 1 sentence 1 of the Civil Code (BGB) in connection with article 246 3 of the Introductory Statue to the Civil
Code (EGBGB).
Notice of cancellation: Any request to cancel the course under this Clause 4 is to be submitted to:

Consequences of cancellation: In the event of a cancellation in line with this Clause 4, any performance delivered by
either party is to be returned and the proceeds of any utilization (e.g. interest) submitted. If one party cannot submit /
return the received performance and benefits (e.g. utilization benefits), or submit / return them only partially or in a
deteriorated condition, that party will be required to compensate the other party to the required extent. Payment
obligations must be fulfilled within 30 days. The time limit becomes effective on dispatch of your notice to cancel, and
upon its receipt by the School.
Special Conditions: A Students right of cancellation shall expire prematurely if the agreement, at that Students express
request, has been executed in full by both parties prior to the Student exercising their right of cancellation.

Cancellation, Refunds & Deferrals


No refunds or course transfers are permissible after the start of the course save as permitted within these Terms and
Conditions.
The Student may apply to cancel the course booking subject to the following conditions:
In the event that a Student cancels their enrolment prior to the start date of the course, the School may provide a
refund of fees paid. Please note that the Deposit is non-refundable, save as provided in these Terms and Conditions
under Clause 4.
In the event that a Student cancels their enrolment after the start date of the course, but before end of week one of the
course, the School may provide a refund of fees paid less an administrative fee of 350
In the event that a Student cancels their enrolment after the start date of the course, and more than one week into the
course, the School may provide a partial refund of fees paid for any part of study that has not yet commenced.

Should a Student disagree with the refund amount provided, Students reserve the right to appeal this, and to submit
evidence in support of this, which will be assessed on a case by case basis.

6.1

VISA and VISA Refusals


It is the students sole responsibility to ensure that they are familiar with the most up to date VISA regulations. Students on
a VISA must familiarize themselves with German immigration regulations and at all times abide by the conditions of their
VISA. The School accepts no liability for incomplete or inaccurate applications being supplied. International students
must book and attend a full time course in order to meet the requirements of their VISA or Study Permit.
When a student has not received a response on their VISA application from the German Embassy at least two weeks
before the start date of the course, it is the Students sole responsibility to notify Student Services (by emailing
info@gisma.com) and to request a deferral (please see Clause 7 below). Students who fail to notify Student Services at
least two weeks before the start date of the course will be subject to a late notification charge of 350 if applying for a
refund due to a VISA refusal.
If a student receives refusal from the VISA authorities, the student has no more than forty-five (45) calendar days from
the date of the refusal (as indicated on the refusal letter) to either request a deferral (please see Clause 7 below) or
apply for a refund. If a student does not apply for a course deferral or apply for a refund within forty-five (45) calendar
days of their refusal letter and two weeks from the start date of their course, the Deposit is forfeited and there is no
entitlement to a refund of any Deposit paid.
Where a Students VISA application has been refused, an application for a refund must be made at least two weeks
before the start date of the course.
Where the student has informed the school in writing at least two weeks before the start date of the course via the
online ticketing system, if the refund application is approved, they will receive a full refund, less an administrative fee of
250 (plus any courier fees) if the following documents are provided: (1) Copy of the VISA refusal letter (2) Copy of the
students passport showing both a photograph and signature; and (3) Where the payee was not the student, an original
authority letter from the student authorising the repayment to the payee, subject to Clause 6.3 (below).
IF A STUDENTS VISA APPLICATION IS REFUSED ON THE GROUNDS THAT THE STUDENT FAILED TO PROVIDE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, DEMONSTRATE ADEQUATE FINANCIAL SUPPORT, OR FOR OTHER REASONS WHICH THE STUDENT CAN BE
HELD ACCOUNTABLE, THE SCHOOL ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY TO REFUND. THE STUDENT IS HELD RESPONSIBLE IF THE
VISA APPLICATION WAS MADE LATE AND THEIR ENROLMENT HAS ALREADY BEEN PROCESSED.

Deferrals
Students may defer their place on a course by up to one academic year from the start date of the course.
All applications for deferrals must be received by the School at least 30 days before the start date of the course. The
School reserves the right to charge a deferral fee, which will be no more than 5% of the total course fees paid.
Where a student had deferred their course and then wants to withdraw from the course, no refund will be given, except
in exceptional circumstances. The School has sole discretion in determining whether or not the students circumstances
are exceptional.
After arrival

Upon arrival, students must provide appropriate photographic ID (including a Passport or ID card) and a copy of their VISA.
The School will take copies of all relevant documents. All information will be stored in accordance with our data
protection policy (see http://www.gisma.com/en/dataprotection.html).

9.

Attendance

9.1

Students must provide the School with explanations for any absence(s). Any absences of 3 days or longer must be
accompanied by a doctors certificate.
The School will notify relevant authorities where the student has recurrent unexplained absences. This may affect the
students VISA status.

9.2

Scheduling

The School is under no obligation to offer a specialization pathway if the number of students enrolled falls below eight (8). The
School reserves the right to change classrooms, teachers, location, and daily schedules where necessary, and subject
to reasonable notice being provided to Students.

11.

Conduct and Behaviour

11.1 Students must comply at all times with the Student Code of Conduct.
11.2 The School reserves the right to expel a student without refund in the event of breaching the Student Code of Conduct.
The Schools decision is final.
11.3 Students who are found to have cheated on or plagiarized their pre-arrival test will be subject to an investigation, and
should it be deemed appropriately, Students may be expelled and reported to the authorities.
12.

Limitation of liability

12.1 Force Majeure: Neither the School nor its representatives are liable in cases where the school is unable to fulfil any
services to which they are contractually bound because of strikes or other reasons that are beyond their reasonable
control such as an act of God, terrorism, war, or severe weather.
12.2 Students attention is particularly drawn to the following clause: The liability of The School, London School of Business and
Finance, Inter-Active Pro Limited, The School Inc, and/or Interactive World Wide Limited and GISMA Business School
GmbH (and their Group, Associated and/or Affiliated companies) exclude for losses arising from their negligence
(except in the case of liability for death or personal injury), breach of contract or otherwise will be limited to the full
amounts paid by the relevant student for the course.
12.3 We accept no responsibility for students personal property, and students are strongly advised to take out appropriate
insurance. The School and GISMA Business School are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage
incurred by any student or prospective student when partaking in any social activity organised by the School or booked
through the School. Proof of personal liability, accident and health insurance is compulsory for all Students.
12.4 For any injury to a participants life, body or health, the School will only be held liable if this is due to the fault of the
School and/or its staff. For any other damage to the participant, the School is only responsible for such arising from a
deliberate act and gross negligence, if there is no infringement of the duties as laid out in the contract. For any damage
or injury caused by a Student, the Student will be held directly liable. The School may have recourse if held responsible
for any damage or injury caused by a Student. The School is not liable for events beyond its control.
12.5 Students must report on their application form any mental or physical illness, allergy, disability or condition that may
affect their ability to complete their course, or that may affect any other student, member of staff or host family.

13.

Queries and Complaints

Students must bring any problems to our attention immediately to enable the School to assist. The School does not accept
retrospective complaints or queries. Please email info@gisma.com.

Maintaining academic reputational integrity

All students of The School acknowledge that it is an accredited academic institution which is committed to maintaining and
improving its reputation as such. Accordingly, by agreeing to become a student of The School, all students consent to
not engage in any action which might cause either their own personal academic reputation or the reputation of The
School to fall into disrepute.
15.

Terms and conditions supersede verbal agreements

Any verbal agreements made by a member of the School staff, or the Student, or any of the Schools international agents,
partners, or organisations, will only be binding if confirmed in writing by the School.
16.

Governing law

For students attending Hannover Campus, these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Lower Saxony
and Germany and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hannover/Lower Saxony courts.
17.

Other

17.1 Students must pay a registration fee of 50 . Please note that should the Student cancel their course in line with Clause 4
above, the fee of 50 may be refunded.
17.2 Course discounts are valid from the dates advertised. Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to bookings.

18.

Severability Clause

If any provision or provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall be held to be invalid, illegal, unenforceable or in conflict with
the law of any jurisdiction, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be
affected or impaired thereby.
