PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CODIFIED RULES FOR STUDENT REGENT
SELECTION

Proposed Amendment No. 1 (One Council, One Vote)


UP Diliman College of Social Sciences and Philosophy Student Council
UP Diliman University Student Council
Line 285, to insert in between the and AUs the words University Student
Councils and College Student Councils of the;
Lines 291 to 292, to insert in between all and AUs the words University
Student Councils and College Student Councils of the;
Line 295, at end to add a new section, Section 9. In the event that no
nominee garners two-thirds of the votes cast, the two nominees with the
highest number of votes shall be subjected to further deliberations. If
there should be no consensus as to who shall be selected, votes shall be
cast and the nominee governing the higher number of votes shall be
proclaimed as the next student regent., and renumber the succeeding
sections accordingly; and
Lines 296 to 308, to leave out Lines 297 to 308 and add each USC present
from the different UP autonomous units specifically Baguio, Diliman, Los
Baos, Manila, Mindanao, and Visayas shall be entitled to one (1) vote
while each CSC present from the different UP autonomous and regional
units shall be entitled to one (1) base vote, regardless of student
population.

Further, the USC of each UP autonomous unit shall have the responsibility
of consulting through mechanisms it deems practicable its constituent
college/s and/or degree-granting institute/s without existing respective
student council/s, if there be any such constituent college/s and/or
degree-granting institute/s, and thereby carry its/their one (1) base vote
each during the GASC for SR selection..

Proposed Amendment No. 2 (Minimum Academic Requirement)

Line 70, to leave out the word and;
Line 72, at end to add a new subletter, (e) The University Code such that
s/he must not incur the status of academic delinquency of probation or
graver the semester prior to her/his nomination.; and
Lines 73 to 74, to leave out the entire section, and renumber succeeding
sections accordingly.

Proposed Amendment No. 3 (Three-Year Effectivity Clause)

Line 328, to insert in between rules and shall the words , including the
amendments passed by the GASC,; and
Line 329, at end to add Its effectivity will cover three (3) years and only after
then will these rules be open for new amendments..
