Structure Characteristics
4.1
The 1U high device is of cabinet structure , consisting of chassis and circuit panel. It can
either be fitted into a 19 full open rack, or put on a stable, dry and secure position as a desktop
device.
4.2
There is a mainboard in the cabinet of device, which provides 31 slots. The slots from 1 to
30 are of universal type allowing hybrid insertion of subscriber interfaces, and correspond respectively
to printings of RJ45 sockets from 1 to 30 on the back of device . The slot 31 is designed for inserting a
10Mbps (line speed) Ethernet module, corresponding to the printing of 10Base-T RJ45 socket on the
back of device (refer to Figure 4-1 and Figure 4-2).
4.3
On the back of device , there are two ground terminals respectively at two sides, which are
used for connection between the device and the grounding system on the rack.
4.4
The connector for subscriber interface is RJ45 socket, which can be directly connected
with RJ11 or RJ45 plug, or connected with various connectors such as DB9, DB25 and M34 (F) etc by
means of conversion cable.

Open-package Inspection
5.1 After opening the package, check the model no and quantity of the device and accessories
according to the packing list.
5.2 Based on the type and quantity of subscriber modules shown on the device, check the
selected subscriber interfaces for matching.
5.3 Examine rack, subscriber modules and accessories for damages or dampness; Conduct
drying treatment for the damped products before installation.

32 subscribers lines ports are provided at the back of device, among which the ports
marked from 1 to 30 are optional connection ones for users (see Figure4-2); the
port marked with 10Base-T is for 10Mbps Ethernet interface (which is effective for our
ZMUX-32, and it is ineffective for this device ZMUX-30); the port marked with SUP is
the monitor interface, whose connector is RJ45 plug (see Figure 6-4).

6.6.2 The user must connect the ground terminal on the back of device to the ground line of the
room to ensure the good grounding connection.
6.6.3 If power adaptor with metal casing is used, proper insulation between the casing and the
device case must be ensured in order to avoid device damage or interference with the device.
6.7 Start-up Operation
After all above-mentioned items have been completed and confirmed, turn on the power switch
on the back of device , and the indicator PWR is lighted. No alarm indication will be seen during
normal working.

7.2 The device will be stored in the well-ventilated warehouse free of erosive gas. The storage
temperature will range from -10 to +40 and the relative humidity can not be larger than 75%.
7.3 If the device has been stored for more than half a year, its package must be opened for
necessary inspection by switching on the power supply. The power-on time will not be shorter than 24
hours.
The customer must make the cables according to the following tables as per the varied types of
module of chosen interfaces.

FAQs
Common alarms
LOS is on link input signal is lost;
AIS is on all the receiving signal of the link is 1;
DA is on remote device alarms;
Solutions
1. Check whether the 2M cable of device is inserted stably, and whether the T/R interface is inserted
properly;
2. Self-loop test on the device
1) Local terminal device
Self-loop the T&R link interface with a 2M cable, if alarm disappears, it means that the device
works normally;
2) Remote device
turn off power of the device
Self-loop the T&R link interface with a 2M cable
Open the cover of the device.
set clock of the device as master by JP3(refer to the following picture)
turn on the powerif alarm disappears, it means that the remoter device works normally
revert the device and put on the upper cover of the device
3. If above-mentioned operations are all normal, check the transmission channel and cables to make
sure that they are connected well without disturbance.
