BROCHURE
Process: For this project
we had to create a
brochure on anything
of our choice. I started
by picking the topic
of a band called Alt-J.
They are my style and I
love everything about
them, so coming up
with words and pictures and a rad looking
brochure was easy. I
sketched out a design
that I immediately liked,
so I took it straight to
InDesign and made it
happen. Now that I am
fairly comfortable with
InDesign, I can fulfill my
sketches. Printing was
a pain!! I had no idea
that such tight edges
would be so difficult to
print perfect alignment.

Objectives: align a
two-sided folding design, trim a full-bleed

taken while designing): For this project
we had to create an
inspirational montage
using two pictures and
text. We had to use
Photoshop to create
mask layers to blend
our montage together.

Date: October 25
2014

The goal was to create a unified layout

that had a distinct
message. My first
step was coming up
with a theme and
pictures to go along
with the theme. Then
I found a quote to tie
the pictures together
and convey my message. Lastly, I used
Photoshop to layer
the pictures together
and create a montage.

Process (Programs,
Tools, Skills): To make
this flier, I used the
program InDesign.
I had not used this
program before, so
it was a additional
challenge to familiarize myself with the
tools and resources it
has to offer. To complete this project, I first
sketched out 4 sample
fliers and eventually
narrowed it down to
1. I started by adding
the logo, image, and
text into the document and then recreating my sketched
design through the
tools provided. I incorporated shape,
alignment, symmetry,
value, and gestalt to
create my flier. InDesign is full of tricks and
shortcuts and tools
that make designing
more simple. I have

Description: For this

assignment, I was
asked to create a flier.
All types of companies use fliers as a form
of communication,
so this was a good
starter project. To
create the flier I used
the program InDesign
along with the basic
skills of typography to
make an eye-catching design. It was our
job to add zest to
the provided logo,
image, and text. This
project took time and
patience to bring together the many parts
and produce a well
designed flier.
