The Welfare Team

Foreword by Capt Alison Bunce

Dear Family and Friends,

The end of the year is drawing to a close, the Regiment has been incredibly busy this year with soldiers
deployed all over the world. We have subordinated from a Divisional Signal Regiment providing all the
real life support for the Headquarters to a Multi Role Signal Regiment under the command of 11 Signal
brigade. Everyone has had to work exceptionally hard and the Regiment has had a very successful
year. It cannot be done without the support of the loved ones of the soldiers and for that I thank you.
The Christmas party season has already started and I hope you all enjoy the festivities and have a
relaxing leave with you families. Coming back to a new year refreshed and ready for the coming years
challenges.
I have left as your Unit Welfare Officer to work in the Regional Brigade Headquarters in Tidworth where
I am working with in the Rebasing team responsible for moving all the families in Germany that are
returning to the Saisbury Plain area.
I wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas and wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New year
Best Wishes
Alison

INTRODUCING
THE WELFARE WOBBLES
What is causing you the most stress? - does the current housing shortage, the extension in the mile
radius or the transformation from Modern Housing Solutions to CarillionAmey confuse you?
All your queries / questions and stressful problems will be answered on this page to assist you with
getting them resolved.
Email your concerns to Sgt Martin Staples on 3SR-UWO-SNCO@mod.uk

Dear Welfare Wobbles,

Recently I have been having problems with my boiler and it is not working as it should
be, who do I contact to rectify these issues?
CarillionAmey are now running with housing and faults as of 1st December the
numbers will stay the same and you can book your fault out as per usual - if you are
not happy with the service you are provided or they miss an appointment you can
progress with making a complain all complaints procedures can be found on their
website: www.carillionamey.co.uk
Dear Welfare Wobbles,
Lately I have been having issues with my front door as the lock does not always work,
do I need to pay for my own locksmith?
You can book the fault out with CarrilionAmey the numbers are the same as before you
would have received all the information on booking faults out with your welcome pack
when you moved in. Dependant on the fault and if it is a priority the contractor will
come and fix it within an allocated time slot. If the fault is not affecting the security of
the property then it will be logged as a routine fault. You are free to call a locksmith if
you wish but you will have to pay the costs and these cannot be reimbursed.
Dear Welfare Wobbles,
I would like to re-decorate my kitchen, am I allowed to do so, and if so can I decorate it
however I like?
As a licensee you are free to make the house your home but any changes you make
will have to be put back to the original speck as when you first moved in. for more
information have a look on the CarillionAmey website: www.carillionamey.co.uk
Dear Welfare Wobbles,
My husband is away on exercise at the moment and I dont drive, but I need to get to
hospital appointments will you take me?
Unfortunately the Welfare are unable to take Wives/Partners and dependants for
routine appointments due to insurance reasons there are however many good public
transport links to enable you to get to your appointments. For information on public
transport have a look at the Wiltshire council website:
www.wiltshire.gov.uk/parkingtransportandstreets/publictransport
